What is that ground almond mixture used for? Is it a cleanser? What does it do? Can you use it after cleansing with an OCM and follow it with the ACV?
Thanks for all the great info....I'm very new at this, and it's wonderful! |

Welcome! I was a newbie not long ago too!!
The almond mixture-- It's a homemade version of Dr. Hauschka's Cleansing Cream. You grind up some almonds, mash them to a mashed potato consistency and use a press and roll motion on your face (like using a ink stamp as Mabsy has said) The oils of the almonds combine with your oils in your pores and pull them out. Great for blackheads. It creates a vacuum like suction. You can find the recipe for DHCC on the DIY post. Basically mashed almonds, and anything added that your skin likes. I add some tea tree oil and bermagot to the almond paste. Someone on the forum also suggests just buying almond paste at a whole foods store insted of mashing almonds at home.
I use OCM first(my mix- castor oil 2 tbsp, grapeseed oil 3 tbsp, bermagot essential oil 10 gtts, tea tree oil 10 gtts). Second steam face, to loosen pore plugs. Wipe oil off with a hot/warm cloth. Press and roll D.H.C.C. Rinse. Spray ACV toner on face and pat in.
My skin is congested right now and I'm working on purging my skin, this is why I use both in the pm. In the morning I just use the DHCC. I really love the OCM in the evening to remove makeup and pore gunk from the day. It is such a nice treatment--castor oil really is a wonder at pulling dirt and oil from pores.
Keep reading and have fun making your own stuff!! |
