I have been a fan of Kiehl's products for the last 4 years or so and have recently been lucky enough to receive a generous supply of samples from the new range, including a stabilised Vitamin C serum/lotion.[ I have a few freinds ideally placed in retail!] So far, so good, though the microdermadrasion is serious stuff and I have not yet managed to build up to the recommended usage. Shame the range is pretty expensive, but I've always been happy with the other products I've used from Kiehl's so I shouldn't grumble. Afterall, I've spent as much if not more on other ranges that haven't come through with the promised results.

For whatever reason, I could not get my lips to heal from a perpetual state of cracking, spliting, bleeding and pain!!! It was as if I'd developed a permanent case of *snake lips* as the surface skin kept trying to rejuvenate with new lip epidermis only to shed it over and over again (until my lips were literally raw). I tried a ton of drug store lip balms and moisturizers (in addition to exfoliation) with zero results, and was about to head of to my doctor for ANY kind of medical help when I decided to buy a tube of "Kiehl's Lip Balm #1." I couldn't believe it, but within ONE DAY of use I was pain free and had dramatically halted the extreme chapping!
Seven weeks have passed since I began using this balm and my lips are back to normal (moist and smooth). I did augment my lip treatment with the addition of HA capsules with BioCell Type II (as recommended by Carekate for fuller lips). It only made sense to add a oral supplement that hydrates your skin from the inside out - especially one that is touted to focus on lip dimension (by means of increased water retention in the epidermis). Both balm and capsules worked wonders...lips feel great and are fuller!
The only downside was the initial shock at the cost of a 0.5 oz tube (it's lip balm, afterall), but desperation for immediate results superceded my general *frugalista* attitude! For the record, I have not tried Dr. H's lip products, or any others worth mentioning that target severely chapped lips. I'd love to hear from other's with similar lip issues, and what products you've used to solve the problem. Thanks everyone! |
