I purchase the complete Epidermx System and have been so excited to start seeing results. But both times I have used it, my skin never balled up at all. I just rubeed and rubbed in circular motions until I felt like I had rubbed my skin raw - literally nothing happened. I tried making sure my skin wasn't too moist, I made sure I rubbed lightly but all that happens is the Epidermx gets so dry on my face it is like cement and dries on there - it isn't even rubable it is so dry if that makes any sense...please help |

That's definitely not what's supposed to happen, Andrea. Please, whatever you do, don't rub too hard as you might make your skin raw and very sore.
I always wet my hands and lightly rub them over my face so it's moist, but not dripping wet. Your skin shouldn't be too dry, otherwise it won't work properly. Be sure to dry your hands before scooping some of the EpidermX out of the tub, though, so that no water gets inside to spoil it.
If I remember correctly, I think it's supposed to take approx 5 minutes of gentle, circular rubbing until the EpidermX start to ball up. I've never timed it for myself, but I reckon that's probably about right. How long did you rub for? At first, it doesn't feel as though anything's going to happen, but it then suddenly should start to ball up.
Mind you, I think you should probably leave off trying again for a while, until your skin's had time to recover.
Meanwhile, I wonder if anyone else has had similar problems and can give Andrea more advice on how to overcome this? Or could it perhaps be a "bad" batch? |

I've done this four times now and each time I have gotten the balling up effect. Here is how I do it.
I pull my hair back with a band. I splash tepid water all over my face. With 2 dry fingers, I scoop about 1 tablespoon of product out of the tub. I put product all over my face..when I'm in a mirror messing with my face, I have no concept of time, so I need a clock. The directions say massage product for 5 minutes...so you need to massage for 5 minutes. Using two fingers, I circular massage the product on my whole face. I usually start at my forehead and work around my face like a clock.
Your arm does get tired, but keep going. I'm not sure what causes the reaction ~ whether its letting the product get absorbed into your face or the massaging...but always right around 5 minutes (which is a minute or so after I start thinking I can't take this anymore) it starts to get creamy - sort of like peanut butter. Keep doing the circular massage all over your face. The product just seems to fall off your face, probably with a ton of dead skin cells. Then I wash my face and apply the camellia oil. Good luck! |

OK, as you massage it in and it dries out, you should get to the stage where it feels totally dry and this is the stage where you can rub yourself raw if you are not careful.
This stage is the step before the balling starts. I find when it gets to that dry, sandy stage, I stop for a moment, just 30 seconds or so and then when I start to GENTLY rub again, that is when it balls off.
My other tip is, that when you get to the dry stage, wash your hands and make them free of product and TOTALLY dry.. in that short space of time, you skin will be read to rub again and ball off. |

Maybe I didn't use enough product. It says use a dime size amount and that is exacxtly what I used. Should I do one area at at time or massage the whole face. I massaged from the forehead down and back around again. It did get very very dry and it was almost hard to massage at that point. It actually felt like I was rubbing myself raw and I just thought 'this cant be right'...my face looks good this morning believe it or not but I know it could look so much better if I can get it right. Thanks for all the advice! |

Yes you probably need more of the crystals to absorb the dead skin. I let mine sit on my face a couple minutes after I have massaged it in. I then moisten my fingers and lightly rub and the epidermx rolls up and falls off like pencil shavings. The crystals need time to absorb the dead skin and then you slough them off. |

Yep, when you get to that "this can't be right" stage and you feel you will rub yourself raw, just stop. clean off your hands (it comes off so much easier and better if you have clean hands) and by that time they should be ready to rub off. |

I use to sell this and I didn't get it to ball until my 3rd useage, not sure why? if it doesn't ball then it tends to be like you describe. If you can't get balling don't rub til your raw, be gentle! Your skin will still be soft. For me it was such a fine line w/moisture. I dampened my face. My face was always red afterwards but not sore, and my morning it was fine. Good Luck! |
