I need help please. I have flare ups of eczema on my face from time to time and would really love to use an OCM cleanser and the ACV toner. Would it be alright or would this cause the eczema to flare up? Just wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this. Thanks!

OCM cleanser is probably ok but i wouldn't use the ACV toner, unless it's very diluted.

Use a small percentage of castor oil to another moisturizing oil to try it. I wouldn't use ACV, it might make the inflammation worse. I don't have eczema so I really don't know- sorry!

Woolly,

I do not use the OCM or the ACV but my husband also has facial flare-ups of eczema. From researching the issue, it seems in his case that he needs ointment textures and super hydrating lotions to control it, while avoiding anything drying. I do not know if this includes things that are acidic like vinegar. I am also unsure as to whether this is due to a lack of "acid mantle" or if it is because his mantle doesn't work well enough. I do know that anything drying and heat are highly aggravating. for ointment, he uses petroleum jelly. Perhaps someone who understands whether these oils and vinegars are drying or not can help you find equivalents. Big lot of help I am.... Rolling Eyes

Thanks everyone. I think I'll stick to my tried and true (Cetaphil and Protopic)

I have eczema flare ups from time to time and the OCM made me break out horribly! It dried up my skin and caused itchy red bumps, it was just a mess for about a week after, I didn't even use the castor oil, I used jojoba and EVOO combo... I haven't tried the ACV, I can't stand the smell of apple cider vinegar, it makes me wanna gag! I think the OCM method of cleansing is more for oilier skin types, mine is so dry/sensitive, especially in the wintertime, hth!
