I read an article that says that ALA, which is usually suggested for cholesterol issues, helps your loose belly fat. I also read that L-Carnitine helps you turn fat into energy. And Chromium helps speed up your metabolism. And to top it all off, capsacin extract (from peppers) helps speed up your metabolism as well. Has anyone else heard about these suggestions for weight loss? |

I started taking some pills to aid in weight loss about 2 weeks ago now. I have a healthy bmi but have plateaued in my weight loss and I am trying to get those last 10 - 15 lbs off. It is a struggle! I work out at least 5 times a week and I eat healthy. My target areas are hips, butt, and lower abdomen. I have been trying a combination of items:
-Genuine Health Lean+, Abs+, and multi+daily trim. Instead of listing the ingredients I am pasting the company's website so you can take a look if your interested http://www.genuinehealth.com/english/pbn/index.php?id=2§ion=258
-cellulite and toning cream twice daily to rub on my target areas - I have been using Nivea and Palmer's.
It's only been two weeks so no major improvements right now, but I have noticed that my energy levels are up and my appetite is curbed - probably due to the green tea in the pills. |

I looked at the ingredients and they are pretty much the same supplements I am taking (minus the rind), just a LOT cheaper. I added the L-Carnitine. It seems as though I may be on the right track since other diet "pills" are using the same things. |

Chan,
I notice that the abs+ contains naturally occurring caffeine, which I assume comes from the green tea. Have you noticed whether this extra caffeine is interfering with your sleep patterns?
TIA |

Wow! You must be making progress.. I find my body sometimes plateaus when I am continually eating and exercising correctly, and then when I decide to take a break and eat out or just eat more than usual, that's when I lose more weight. I wonder if the psychological factors are affected by having a good, satisfying meal where calories are not counted so closely actually promotes weight loss?
If you notice any changes when using the Nivea, could you please let us know? I have been wondering if it actually works..
Thanks and Good Luck! |

I haven't tried these products but I read that cinnamon helps with fat loss, as well as calcium.
who knows? |

TIA - No it hasn't interferred with my sleep. I thought it might because I few years back i tried ephedra products and I wasn't able to sleep at all and started clenching my jaw (which is why I stopped taking that product!!), but this pill hasn't. I take it 6 times a day and still no problems. The caffeine is from green tea too.. |

Sorry I did this in two posts...
Ahihi,
Good theory...I hope it's true! I never count calories but I do plan on having a great meal out this weekend!
I am finding that as I age my body goes through changes and for some horrible reason the latest thing my body likes to do is hold onto fat in my stomach. I use to be able to do sit ups for a week and have a flat stomach but now, no way I am starting to notice a difference on my stomach these past few days, but this is just preliminary results...
The nivea didn't work very well. I thought I noticed a difference at the end of week one (the tube lasts around two weeks if you apply it twice a day as recommended, but I think I was hoping more than anything else. It does smell nice though and I think it has shimmer in it. Everyone has been telling me that it is more of the massage motion rather than the oil/cream that reduces the appearance of cellulite, but nonetheless my next trial is a cellulite oil from Gaia Gardens. I'm ordering it next week.
One good thing about the abs+ is that it contains CLA which is suppose to target fat cells |

5-HTP helps to reduce appetite and promotes weight-loss.
I'm taking CraniYums and they do really help with my appetite in the evening, I don't eat after 6 anymore!

I have taken all of these for over a year and I will not stop. I am 50 - no weight issues and I feel the benefit is there. (Too happy to not take them!) |

Chan - thanks for the review on the Nivea product. I tried L'oreal Sublime Slim - a similar product, but with no results either. It seems massaging your skin with or without any cream will give you the same benefits. The Nivea ads looked so good, though..
Sister sweets - thanks for the info on L-Carnitine, Chromium, and Capsacin. I have some L-Carnitine sitting around, guess I should use it. I hope I don't need to buy all of those to make it work though. Tiring taking all of those pills! |
