I love this product - it is very uplifting - particularly good to use when you're tired, stressed or "in a mood" to treat yourself. Even if you don't have the time to exfoliate just unscrewing the lid and taking in a really big breath of this lavender, basil & grape scrub does wonders to make you feel SO much better!
The body scrub is in the Laura Mercier Body & Bath range and they are many delicious other fragrances (Creme Brulee and Mimosa (a lemon/lime/citrus fragrance). I find the fragrance lasts for about 4 hours on me.
The scrub comes in a 380ml glass jar and it isn't cheap - about AUD$95 (ie $70 USD/$90CAD) BUT here's the thing - it surprisingly lasts a really long time - much much longer than you would think just looking at the size of the jar.
The scrub feels a little gritty between your fingers but is blended with a really rich/creamy moisturer (and you can feel the quality!). The fragrance is oh la la (as I mentioned before). I exfoilate my entire body once or twice a week using it and this jar has lasted me about 5-6months! It also comes with a little scoop/spatula so that you could siphon some off into another container if you travel a bit.
I find it is very effective as an exfoliator and use exfoliation gloves to get the most of the product. (I get disappointed when you buy a product with a "name" and it doesn't deliver and you feel like you've just paid a hefty price tag for their packaging & advertising campaign! - but IMO this is not the case with this product). I follow up my exfoliation with a moisturer but if you really love the fragrance, they also have a body moisturer (and body gel) in the same fragrance.
I've also had the pleasure of using the other fragrances once (ie scrub, body gel and body moisturer) The "creme brulee" is very sweet and lovely - honestly it smells good enough to eat - but I think would be better to use winter because of the fragrance. Living in Australia and being summer now - I like to wear something lighter & invigourating. The "mimosa" fragrance is also great - very uplifting and invigourating - and works best if you use the bath gel and moisturer together. I will have trouble deciding which one to buy next time.
And if you think it can't get any better than this - it CAN! - not only do you smell wonderful but so does your bathroom! |

Hi KM,
Uh-oh! another body scrub to try!! I love all-over body exfoliating as well, it really gets your circulation going and puts an extra skip in your step. I love them! and my jar gets packed and goes everywhere with this girlie!
What are the scrubbing granules/ particles like in this scrub?

Sounds nice but what really irks me about stuff like that is the markup that we have to pay in Australia. This scrub retails at around US$45 which means it should cost about Au$57. I know I know... I DO understand the concept of taxes and making a profit but I don't have to like the idea of it :P
KM - does the smell of the scrub hang around on your skin or does it fade fairly quickly? I'm just wondring if it would interfere with perfumes.... |
