I love ocm and how well it cleans my face but my skin is still dry after I moisturize with jojoba or grapeseed oil. Is there another oil that is slightly more moisturizing than these two that won't break me out? |

Hi Cloe,
Isn't amazing that you can use oil and end up with an almost "dry" skin?
However, a good oil that definitely won't clog your pores is Hemp Seed Oil. The smell isn't the most inviting ... but you could add some EO to make it smell nicer.
Also ... I have always thought that one should have a "moist" face upon which to put the moisturizing oil. The oil itself isn't adding moisture ... but it should hold moisture in.
Therefore, I always spritz with a hydrosol before putting on a "moisturizing" oil.
Good luck

Hi cloe, It's not an oil, but Weleda's Everon Face Balm really works great on any dry patches I get during the winter months. All you need is a tiny bit warmed in palms and gently pat onto skin. I'm not acne prone so I don't know if it would cause breakouts in someone who is, but here are the ingredients in case you're interested:
EVERON Face Balm from Weleda
Soothes and protects the skin from environmental factors. Sweet Almond Oil and Beeswax intensely moisturize and calm your skin. Apply this long-lasting balm anytime - ideally 30 minutes before stepping outdoors - to defend your skin against wind, sun and other environmental stressors.
Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Peanut Oil, Beeswax Cera Flava, Glyceryl Linoleate, Fragrance (Parfum from natural essential oils), Hectorite. |

It is amazing to me. Mary, what kind of hydrosol do you use? I don't really know what that is. Thanks for the hemp seed oil suggestion. I imagine that it would smell kind of earthy or grassy. Is that about right?

This was a bit of an Ah Hah! moment. Thanks for that also.
Hi Jala, the face balm sounds really nice. I'll have to check that out. Thanks for all the info. I really appreciate it:D |

Hi cloe,
I like squalane, avocado and vitamin e. I recently purchased Mario Badescu Rose Hips Nourishing Oil, and my skin is loving it. I use the OCM cleansing method with avocado, grapeseed, olive oil with 25% castor oil. Then I pat the MB rose hips oil on my face and neck, and it feels wonderful. It's very moisturizing and my skin feels nourished. This absorbs into my skin nicely, doesn't feel or look oily, and I think it gives my face a nice glow. |

Hi Debra,
Thanks for responding. I've heard some really good things about squalane oil on this site. I also saw a rose hips oil by Aubrey Organics at the store yesterday that looked really good. These are some really good ideas that I'll look into.
While I was at the store I got some samples of Juice Beauty moisturizers. One that's oil free and one that's not. I love them both. I may end up getting these also. |
