This usually starts with my hubby politely asking if my "periodical" has come yet? by nightfall I have rummaged through the kitchen and pantry like the tasmanian devil at least 15 times, taking bites of everything in sight, looking for that all-elusive glory food that will satisfy my mysterious craving. It always ends the same way...a late night trip to the store dragging my supportive husband through the isles in the same pathetically determined way. Do I want a donut? Cheese? Ice cream? Oh, what's THIS...this is new! Nah, keep looking. This month I ended up with cookies and cream poptarts! Delicious, satisfying...Ahhh. Waiting for my next adventure Laughing

Thought it might be a good idea to get a list going this time...who wants to share their period food?

I go for things like Mike and Ikes, Shock Tarts, Sweet Tarts, Starbusts, Sour Patch Kids - you know, real grown-up, chock-full-of-vitamins-type "food" Laughing !!!!

I love sour candy, but my jonesing for it really goes into overdrive right before the "big event!".

The only time I want and crave chocolate is during that time of the month and since I didn't have any around and had used up the rest of my bag of chocolate chips for cookies the week before, I resorted to sucking the chocolate off some pretzels my sister made a while ago Embarassed

It's always chocolate for me.

I really hate to admit this, but I actually once burst into tears during my period when there was no chocolate in the house and my husband forgot to buy me some whilst he was at the supermarket. Then I burst out laughing at how utterly ridiculous I was being. Embarassed

Funniest part of it is I had polished off my choc chips the month before which is why I was desperate enough to go for the kids treats .

My husband makes fun of how "demanding" Laughing I am because I go to dairy queen and make special requests when I'm on my period.

Oreo blizzard, with added m&m's mixed in, then topped by more oreos. This is a staple.

PNW - I had to laugh when I read your post about your late night trips to the store because that is exactly what I do. Smile Once I had my bf walk around NYC with me at midnight for almost an hour going to all the 24hr delis and supermarkets trying to find the perfect ice cream flavor. I was convinced there was such thing as a Godiva dark chocolate ice cream with truffle chunks, but we never found it (and I now think I was remembering wrong.)
