Tried a couple of new products this weekend and I need to write a RAVE about 2 of them.

Let me start by saying that I have milia/breakout prone/combo skin. I am VERY pale with olive undertones (dark hair and eyes).

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Moisturizing Lotion $20.00 at CVS (came with a free thermal water): LOVE THIS PRODUCT!!!! I have bee caught in this terrible cycle for months where I break out....use harsh acne med (usually proactive or L'Oreal Peel Kit) which drys me out so I use heavy moisturizer which causes breakouts. This lotion is VERY light so I thought it would not do anything but it is VERY moisturizing!!! It has not caused any new breakouts (been using for 3 days...usually I can tell right away). I have been using it in combo with the water and it is AWESOME!!! There is no smell and it goes on really light and soaks right in!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!

Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash 60 Sec Mask Scrub: I also really love this product!! I normally use my apricot scrub but I have heard bad things about its long term effects so I've been looking for another scrub that gives the same results....this one is BETTER!!!! It is a thick white paste with little blue beads in it and you put it on like a mask...leave it for 1 minute then add some water to your hands and scrub away...it is fantastic. My skin feels like it is glowing and my makeup went on like I was 18 again. It has salicylic acid in it so it is supposed to clear up zits (didn't notice much in that area) but it did not dry my skin at all.

L'Oreal Sublime Sunless Tanning Towlettes (face): I used these this weekend because my winter white skin is beginning to look ghostly! I did like the results I got from this product...very subtle color (which is good on the face). It was not orange at all but there was "the smell"...I don't think you can get away from it when you use tanning products.

Almay One Coat Triple Effect Mascara: I do like the look of this mascara but getting there is a little harder than it should be....you have to wipe the wand off a lot before you use it because it gets goopy. It is a lot like the Revlon lenthing mascara ( which I liked much better). Once you use this mascara you loose any curl you had in your eyelashes but it is easy to build the color at the base of the lashes so there is no need for mascara. I was not really impressed with this one!

forgot to add...I also tried LaRoche-Posay Toleriane Cleanser (sample) and it was very nice but did not take off eye makeup very well. It reminded me of a creamy cetephil. Very gentle.

The topic name made it look like you were reviewing a Moisturizer/Mask/Tanner/Mascara combo product. Laughing Wouldn't that be a multi-tasker! Seriously, thanks for reviewing some cvs stuff. It's nice to hear about stuff I can just go out and buy today if I want to try it. Smile

Oops! I guess that is confusing...didnt think about it. I'm going to try more of that La Roche Posay line...I saw it recommended in my latest instyle magazine so I thought it was worth a shot. It is GREAT!

Olivia - I really like the Toleriane Fluide as well! I finished by bottle and was trying to repurchase while I was in Germany and France in December and I could not find that particular one anywhere. I found the entire range but each place I went to didn't have the Toleriane lotion. I was worried that it might have been discontinued?

I hope it does not get discontinued! I finally found a moisturizer that I love! I have seen La Roche Posay products reviewed in magazines so I was shocked to see that they had them at my drugstore...they also have avenue (sp) and another one....they have an area in the store that looks like a department store shelf. I go there every weekend because the selection is great.

Has anyone tried the LaRoche Posay effaclar line? I've seen ads for it, and after hearing about the toleriane stuff, i wonder which would be better for my combination acne prone skin.

I've got a tube of Effaclar K. It's got salicylic acid and I occasionally use it for spot treatment. It's heavily fragranced and even using just a little tends to give me a headache. The Effaclar line is meant for acne-prone oily skin whereas the Toleriane is meant for sensitive skins.

I love the Toleriane fluid which has a very short ingredient list. I just bought the light cream thinking it'd be for days when I needed more moisture. Boy was I surprised when I developed tiny itchy bumps on my cheeks after just 2 uses. Lesson learned, I'm not straying from the fluid anymore.
