It seems that even when we discover a great vitamin or supplement, some brands seem to work better than others or be better quality. What brand of vitamin c powder or crystals is everyone using to make their C serum and which brands give the best results? |

I've used the Aloette C-Accelerator for a while and really enjoy it.... Slight tingle of the skin upon application (and it works better when mixed with a serum rather than, say, a cream).

These days, I order my L-asorbic acid crystals fromwww.thepersonalformulator.com but in the past I bought mine at the Whole Foods (health food store), though I can’t recall the name but if you’re really determined you can find it somewhere on the forum in one of the old posts regarding DIY vit-c serum....
You just need to check the labels to make sure they are 100% pure lysorbic or l-asorbic acid with no other ingredients. |

Thanks Carekate,
I just ordered mine from the personal formulator last night. I love telling my hubby how much money I'm "saving" him!
BTW, do you boil your distilled water or just use it straight out of the jug? And do you mix your serum with room temp water or is it out of the fridge?
TIA |

Watch out ‘cuz that website can be addictive – if you want a list of “must-have” recommendations, you know how to ask! Even if you go nuts (like me!) and buy a bunch of stuff, it’ll save you money in the long run when you figure out all the things you can do with it. For example, I haven’t bought an “ordinary” (read: stuff from the salon or drugstore) bottle of shampoo, conditioner or any type of body conditioner (lotion, oil, cream, butter) in several months....

Start from the jug.

Room temp. Please note that the crystals don’t dissolve immediately, it can take up to an hour. Just keep shaking the bottle vigorously every once in a while until they finally dissolve. |
