One possible diagnosis: eczema. It's not fun, nor nice. In fact, when you scratch at it, it bleeds, and can be downright painful.
Evening Primrose Oil supplements AND topical applications can help with this. Cortisone cremes, and Decleor's Essential Balm was also helpful when I had my own bout (on my hands) last winter.
You might want to consider any changes in life: skincare products, laundry detergent, stress, or diet. Turning on the heat at home can also render your skin to be more dry. Try a collodial oatmeal bath to calm the skin. If the problem persists, see your md. They may prescribe a stronger cortisone creme. Good luck, and don't scratch! |

It definitely sounds like an allergy (I'm a lifetime sufferer).
Have you had anything like this before? |

Are they on your elbows, knees, butt, thighs, face, ears? How long have you had them? |

are they bumpy? Also, when you scratch it, does it get bigger?
If you answer yes to both questions, might be allergy reation.
When I was in middle school (long time ago), I was allergic to like a million things, and usually got this rash everywhere.
Have you eaten anything out of the ordinary? |

It doesn't have to be food. My last bout (just this past January) was triggered by wood smoke, both incense and wood fire.
It could be anything, really. So the first line of defense is to clean out your system ASAP, go on a fruit and veggie diet for 2-3 days, drink lots of water, an herbal laxative may help (sorry don't like to mention it but it does take the junk out pretty quickly.)
Also, to tone down the itching, buy one of those ugly Celery roots, peel a piece, grate about 2 tablespoons on a coarse grater and soak it for 2 hours in a glass of cold spring water. Then drink that liquid during the day before meals. This really helps with the itching - NO MATTER what the cause of the reaction. |
