I am looking for a good moisturizer with SPF 30 that is light and not greasy. Currently, I use a moisturizer and THEN sunblock, and I'm looking to make this one step instead of two. My skin is prone to break-outs, so I can't stress enough, nothing oily.
I have a feeling some people here might be able to offer tips...? |

I think most of us on the forum use one of La Roche Posay products
I personally use the Lait, can't say that I totally love it (too shiny and sticky but doesn't smell) but I know it is protecting me |

Janis,
You found a good moisturizer that won't break you out? Do please tell!! |

I use this moisturizer made by Bruno Vassari.
Wow, I just looked up the website, brunovassari.com, and found out the company is Spanish! Who knew? I got it from an esthetician who I trust.
The one I use is called "Activ Purifying Fluid Mat," made "for oily skin with breakout tendencies." It is light and non-greasy and has never made me break out.
But here's the thing. It says it has sunscreen in it, but I guess I just don't trust that it has strong enough sunscreen for my skin. It says "Sunscreens UVA-UVB 1,5%" (no, that comma wasn't a typo), and I'm not really sure what that means.
So I'm looking for a new combination product. |

Thanks Janice!
I am also looking for a sunblock still as you are. Currently I use SkinCeuticals Ultimate Defense 30 and find it to be very moisturizing. Almost too much at times, so I have to use a very thin layer. They also have a 20spf that is probably almost the same. From what I've read someone here mentioned the LRP Anthelios spray dermo-pediatric spf40 dried matte and did not make her break out. Don't know if it is moisturizing though?

Candy... You're hounding poor pnw all over the forum!
But I am intrigued, are you going to be making your own sunblock?
Anyways, I haven't tried any of Dermalogicas sunblocks but I've seen they've got "liquid sunblock" called Solar Booster. You mix with your moisturizer or use it straight...
I think it looks interesting

Ah, was just feelin' a little frisky earlier and saw PNW was logged on, so yea - I chased her around for awhile, was fun (what a pathetic life I have, stalking some poor woman from thread to thread!!).
Anyway...actually, yes I was thinking of giving it a try. Ingredients are easy to come by. LOL, my concern is not knowing if it works or not until I "think" I'm protected and come in one summer day looking like a lobster! |

i haven't ever mixed it with another product (didn't know you could do that ) but i have used it over my moisturiser and it worked real well. makeup went on smoothly, etc. more importantly,it didn't break me out! i thinking making a DIY with this and a moisturiser that works for you would be the best.
however, if you want more protection, there are always the LRP's. you can't wear any make up over them though.... i'm currently trying the avene spray 50+ for sensitive skin and thus far no breakouts from it. not quite crazy about the finish and feel a little ridiculous wearing this high an SPF in rainy overcast weather, but i want to find something that works before i need it. i do use a moisturiser underneath -- just don't like the idea of all that sunblock sinking into my skin.

Ruth, you are a doll coming to my rescue! But don't worry....I'm slick as glycerin.
I do fear our friend Candy has gone "off". The poor thing would DIY her own mace and give it to all the girls at the station if she could!
(BTW I think you are both so much fun!)
Now,...about this sunscreen....OMGGGGGGG!!!!! |

Ah, see...now that's where you're wrong. I haven't just gone "off" - I've been waaaay off for years!!
Hmmm, DIY mace....I like it!
And I do think the sunscreen is doable (is that a word?)
Had a bad case of the sillies last night (think it was from sniffing too much Shea Butter...) |
