I know ther is a lot of you that use this and get great results! I've been using it for 8 weeks now. At 4-5 weeks I started to notice my lashes looking a lot better. I had gaps and they were filling in slowly. After my 6-8 week mark, I noticed my lashes falling, maybe 15 or so in the last 2 weeks in one eye. Has this happenend to anyone? I called Jan Marini and they said that this happened to Jan in the beginning and that they said my lashes will get better as time goes on and to give it more time that those lashes were ready to fall out as all lashes do eventually. I hope they are right! I don't have noticable gaps like I used to before I started using it but I noticed them thinning out a bit after loosing those lashes. Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I'm waiting on my order. Lashes falling out is not good news to me. Hopefully, someone else will respond. |

I'm in my 7th week of use, and I haven't noticed any lashes falling out that weren't at the end of their growth stage. I'll report back next week to see if that happpens. At this point, I haven't really noticed any continued lengthening, but my right eye has a lot of lashes growing in to fill in smaller gaps. My left eye doesn't have those, but I attribute that to the differences in growth stages for each lash. I'm sure that's why the company recommends waiting the full 3 months to see complete results.
Either way, my lashes look beautiful, especially in mascara! Love it. |

Just wanted to report that I just passed the 3 week mark with this product. My lashes are definitely better--I can't tell if it's length or thickness--but they "show up" again. I'm very happy. I was able to buy it for $108 using a 20% coupon, and if I can keep finding deals like that, then I think I'll be able to purchase it at least a couple of times a year. |

The lashes that fell out were long, so I'm sure that they were at the end of their growing stage, but there were more than I expected, maybe there are some lashes that are on the same cycle of growing and then falling out, so that is why maybe I noticed more, since there were more. I have another problem this morning I dropped my Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash and the top cracked, I afraid that it will dry up and I have a lot left....I put it in a zip lock bag and sealed it tight with no air...Does anyone think that may help it from drying it out? Thanks![/b] |

I just posted this in another related JM lash stuff thread that I wanted to share here before I respond to TwinMommy’s concerns:

The price of Jan Marini eyelash is costly. For 0.23 oz, it is around $160. Does any one else have good results? I am tempting to buy it, but don't know if it will work for me. |
Yes, it’s definitely worth the money but see if you can find it on Ebay or another online seller for less. I’m still conducting my experiment using JM Age Intervention Lash on my left lashes and my homemade lash serum on my right lashes and I have to tell you that my lashes never looked this good before, even when I was wearing mascara – I wish like hell that I had a digital camera so I could take a pic of my eyes and post the photo so you could see for yourselves!! The good news is about the JM lash stuff is the fact that I’ve had my tube since Valentine’s Day and it’s still at least ½ full so I reckon I can get another 2-3 months from it easily, so if you divide the cost by 5-6 months, it doesn’t hurt quite as much....
Bottom line: although my homemade lash serum seems to be holding its own against the JM Age Intervention Lash, I would still have to recommend the JM lash stuff as being the single best ‘store-bought’ lash growth serum that I have ever used and remember – I’ve tried just about all of them! |
Experiencing what appears to be an unusually large loss of lashes around the 6-8 week mark with the JM Age Intervention Lash is completely natural. I went through the same thing at the two month mark, both with my lashes using the JM lash stuff and the lashes on my other eye that I’ve been treating with my homemade serum.
I believe what is happening is that the lash growth cycle is becoming “synchronized,” i.e.: all of your lashes are starting on the same scheduled whereby they are growing at the exact same length and are thereby shedding at the exact same time, which makes it appear that you are losing more lashes than usual because people with ‘virgin’ lashes (read: do not use any type of growth serum) only use 1-2 lashes at a time, but this is because the virgin lashes are each growing at their own pace (i.e.: some have just sprouted while others are at the end of their life cycle).
I don’t know if I’m explaining this very well, but the point I’m trying to make is that the lash loss that you have described appears to be a completely normal part of the cycle. Around the beginning of Month 3, you will notice that all of your lashes are now the same length and this is because they are synchronized and growing at the same pace.
Based on my own experiences and experimentation with the various lash growth serum, as well as my own, I don’t think you have anything to worry about.
P.S. My JM lash stuff got the 'crust' around the rim of the tube, as well. I just pick it off and make sure to completely tighten the lid after that and it seemed to count back on the amount of 'crusty ring'.... |

thanks carekate! So what you are saying is that after the 3 month mark I will not notice excessive shedding as much as I am now?? I'm glad that you had the same experience, cause I was getting discouraged, because I do see a lot of potential with this product...my lower lashes are looking darker and getting longer and are more noticable than they were before using JM. I called JM about my broken bottle and they are sending me a brand new one and I have to mail the broken one back. |

This is for carekate again...i was thinking about what you said about the sycronized lashes growing at the same rate once they catch up...my question is...since they reach the same growing cycle eventually...will this mean that they will all fall out at the same time...you said you are at your 3 month mark or more on the JM stuff. I hope they all don't fall out. I kinda understand what you are saying and I'm encouraged now that it is normal what I'm going through, just don't want all lashes to fall out at the same time. Thanks! |

Hi BBD: Where did you get the JM Eyelash serum from and how to get a 20% coupon?
Thanks to caretake's encouragement. I am going to give JM a try.

I got it from SkinWest.com. They happened to be doing a 20% off everything coupon awhile back...But it's over now. Their price was $136 without the coupon.
What I do is this...I am on the email mailing list for a few places, such as skinstore.com, skinwest.com, skin-etc.com, lovelyskin.com, skin-one.com, (Do you sense a trend, LOL?) and I just keep an eye out for deals.
I am happy to report that after 3+ weeks of using the Jan Marini stuff, I have great results. My lashes are a bit darker than before, too (I'm a blonde). I lost a lot of lashes back in my late 20s (due to a contact lens problem, I think) and then they thinned some more in my 40s (I'm 4. This is the first product I've tried that clearly works--none of this "I think my lashes look longer stuff"--they are clearly growing in.
PS. Is it against the rules to post information about other vendors besides EDS? If so, will someone please let me know...
Hope this helps.

BBD: Thank you for letting me know. I found out about Skinwest's website last week from a friend. They had a 20% off offer before I decided to buy Jane Marini Eyelash. Too bad! Skinwest does not charge for shipping either. It is a good deal. I will wait when they have another coupon offer to purchase it. |

Hi, there !! Pouncy from Australia here...I've tried all sorts of whacked out remedies to promote eyelash growth, none with any noticeable results. This Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash stuff sounds promising, though, but I've heard of products that work initially, only to "fall off" (no pun intended) after a prolonged period of use. Has anyone used the Jan Marini for any extended period of time....say, more than three months ? If so, have you been able to maintain eyelash growth ? If this product is as good as it sounds, it'll be the answer to my prayers !! Hope to hear from you soon....cheers !! |

I am entering my 4th month (I started using it on one eye back on Valentine's Day) and am still impressed with the results. |

Update: when I was at Sephora yesterday buying my Guerlain lip products (what else?!), the SA asked me what kind of false eyelashes I was wearing because "they look so natural" and couldn't believe it when I explained at the JM lash stuff and my homemade serum then she called all the other SAs over so they could ooh and aah over my gorgeous long lashes.
I'd say that's a pretty good testimonial that the stuff works, wouldn't you say?! |

Carekate....that is great! I'm the one with the excesstive shedding at week 8 with JM Eyelash. I'm entering week 12 and its taking my lashes longer than I expected to regrow (the one's that dropped off) I hope to see them filling in and staying that way soon, like you are...Question when you lost a large amount too...how long did it take for them to fill in? |

With all due respect, you need to be patient. If you have read this and other threads, as well as the product info itself, you will know that it takes at least THREE MONTHS to attain full benefits and you won't begin noticing any difference for at least a month. Be patient -- it works. |

Couldn't agree more. Please be patient as it is well worth it. |

I'm in my third month and love it but I'm not getting as much on the brush anymore but I still feel that there is quite a bit in there. any tips on getting the last bit out? Q-Tips or something? all you gotta do is smear it on your lash line. |

I also noticed an increase in shedding, but like others posted, I figured it was because they were sharing the same growth cycle. All the lashes I shed were "dead" lashes. I have new ones growing in, but it's taking time as it always does. At least with JM, it takes less time.
8 days is definitely not enough to notice results. I saw noticeable results at about 3 weeks, significant results at 5 weeks and Holy Crap! results at about 7 weeks. |

I seem to have better results on my left eye more than the other. anyone have this? also, I can't get anymore on the brush but on the "stick" part, I just take my finger and take it from there and rub it on my lash line. But I want to get every last bit from the bottle so what can I do.
Also, there has been a seller on Ebay(pinkpanda898) selling it BUT IT NOW for $109. I grabbed it. She has more like that once in awhile. you should keep checking. it has been selling for a around that much on ebay lately, even if it is a reg auction. |

SkinWest has a Father's Day special (huh?) going on now--20% off all Jan Marini (as well as some other brands). It is $108 with free shipping. SkinWest is a very reliable etailer.
I have gotten great results with my first tube and I have decided to use 2 tubes and then try to find something cheaper to maintain my lashes.
My lower lashes are now longer than they ever were in my life! |
