Does anyone know around how long it takes from the time you start using a product, to know whether its breaking you out? I read somewhere it takes about 2-3 weeks for a pimple to form, then I read up to 6 months, but some people said it only took a couple or few days. I'm not talking about break out like in a rash (allergic). I mean the infected pimples. I have very acne prone skin so I'm wondering if anyone here knows the answer. |

I've read 2-3 weeks is the time it takes skin to get used to a new treatment/routine (considering the cumulative effect of some substances... at first it may seem okay, but in a couple of weeks your skin may get congested by something in your new treatment).
But I think it may depend on your specific tendencies, too. Some probably react sooner than that. |

For me personally, it only takes 2 to 3 days before I start to break out with a product that does not agree with my skin. |

I find it hard to believe that it takes a pimple 6 months to form . In my experience if I eat junk and chocolate a few times in the same week I'll get spots within days after. So without any backup from anything else I would guess that it takes anything from a couple of days to a few weeks for a pimple to form - depending on the type of pimple. A cystic spot can take weeks to form, and then either come to a head or receed again... A "regular surface spot" takes a few days to form and ripen... ...sounds yucky.
Product induced spots take a couple of days of use before they give me spots... |

I think it depends, I rarely get breakouts but got two red nasty pimples after trying a Sothys cream (a reformulation of a previous cream that they made which was one of my faves ). I am 99% sure it was the culprit and the pimple came up after ~2 days of use. |

It depends for me... Usually 1-2 weeks, but with some products I would break out in 2-3 days if my skin really didn't like them... |

Wow! With me it's usually overnight! I'm not kidding, so I would say 1-2 days and I usually only have to apply it once to get the message. |
