Hi girls... I just started using retin a. My question is, whould I continue using psf pumpkin peel and/or at home microderm? Also, how bout mini peel that comes with a professional facial. Should I keep doing that monthly too?
Would it be too much peeling maybe?
Any insights would be greatly appreciated.....

Hi roadtonowhere,
I just started using retin-A too and am having the same concern. I want to use a peel to get rid of mild flakies and to make sure my vitamin C absorption is optimal but my skin does seem irritated already. I just bought a new bottle of glycolic acid moisurizer and haven't touched it. I used the alba enzyme peel once and it seemed a bit too much. What is everyone else doing with retin-A and exfoliation? |

I've been using Retin-A since January ... although the concentration of mine is the mildest .01%. However, since I do flake ... I am presuming that even this mildest form is effective.
However, since I can't go around with flakies on my skin all day long ... I use a salicylic acid 10% [in alcohol] peel to get rid of as many as possible.
About once a week, I'll apply this 10% salicylic acid solution and leave it there ... but in between those times, I use the 10% solution mixed in with my OCM ... the oils buffer the SA ... and lessens the severity. This seems to look after the peelies ... and allows for a nice makeup application.
Hope this helps.

Mary,
So, you think it is okay for me to go get monthly facial with mini peel?
I use 0.04%, and my skin does not flake at all.
Hm............
Do you think dr brandt microderm in a jar and/or epidermx is too abrasive for skin that uses retin a? |

I use Epidermx twice a week. I also use Retin-A, but not on the nights I do the Epidermx...from what I read, you need to let your skin rest a night after treatments like that. |
