Hey everyone!
It's my first post here - nice to meet all of you guys. I've had many great product finds after coming to this board! Thing is, I read about some of you using cornstarch as a dusting powder over LRP FE and other shiny sunscreens and I'm abit confused 'cos I read off Paula's site that cornstarch is a food ingredient that could be problematic for those with acne-prone skin. So I was wondering how have you guys fared with cornstarch so far? Does it give a white cast? |

Hi howeyuan I use Jurliques Lavender powder.I think it has cornstarch in it and I dont find it pore clogging at all.It dosent leave a white cast, its very translucent and I like it better than regular face powder, looks more natural |

Hi howeyuan - I may be the person whose posting you read about using cornstarch to mattify LRP FE. I've only done this maybe 6 times myself. It IS white, after all, but my skin is quite pale. It seems most white upon application but then blends in after a little while (on my face at least). I never experienced any acne issues from using it. Lots of powders have contained cornstarch, and the reason this was recommended was because so many powders and other makeup products contain ingredients that are metallic (including some of the dyes in them) that degrade the effectiveness of the active ingredient in FE. I don't know what's in the Jurlique powder, but I often use T.LeClerc loose powder -- but NOT with FE. In fact, I only use FE when I don't wear makeup, otherwise I use Avene. |
