One of my pups goes under general anesthesia today for the removal of a tumor. It will take a week to know whether the tumor is cancerous, but the immediate stress is related to the anesthesia, which has greater complications for greyhounds. I'm calling out to all of you for well wishes today. I figure that support from around the world is a keen advantage! I'm going to work to distract myself, but I'll still be a nervous wreck. My poor little girl. |

All the greyhounds I know are absolutely adorable, such lovely natured dogs.
I'll be thinking of your little one and hoping all goes well for her with the op and the results. |

Pup's surgery went well! Thank you so much for the well wishes. Now we just have to wait on the biopsy results. She's a real firecracker and REFUSES to wear the Elizabethan collar to stay away from the wound so I have to rig something together.... any suggestions? |

Best wishes coming at you from Honduras. I can attest to the power of the support on this board. |

She does have spunk! I think the only hope of her wearing a collar is if it were made by Burberry or Prada. If she were a human child, she'd be the one calling from the police department at 2am needing bail money.
Anyway, she will, at least, humor me by wearing a t-shirt.... but it can't be just any t-shirt... guess I'm gonna have to sacrifice my favorite Raulph Lauren. |

I thought this might be the trick until I made a makeshift version with a rolled towel and she was just as spastic trying to get it off as she was the E-collar. I hate to make the investment for the same result.... I think she just can't stand any restraints. (Given her personality, this does not surprise me!)
So far things seem to be working okay with the t-shirt. She doesn't show any interest yet in licking the wound. What a stressful time! |

Good news! Biopsy results for my little one showed that the tumor was benign. What a relief! Thanks to all of you for the well wishes. |
