I am new to the forum and have been reading through lots of interesting posts for the last 3 hours. I am loking for a good cleanser, toner, serum & moisturiser but my eyes are going ga-ga!
I am 31 and have fairly normal skin, a bit dry in places. My main aim is o combat the signs of aging which are creeping up. I am using Frownies at the moment for the first time and am very impressed, but I would like something to firm up my skin overall. I don't have many lines but feel that my skin looks a bit saggy on the top layer when you look closely. This is no doubt due to the sun bathing when I was younger!
Any suggestions would be great! |

Welcome Weaholt!
There are so many great choices out there. If you like the idea of keeping things simple and inexpensive but very effective try some of the homemade skincare. OCM is really great as well as the homemade C serum. There are other greats on the DIY post as well. The homemade cleansing cream is another favorite for many.
If you want to buy good products try Dr. Hauschka or Anne Marie Borlind. Both are all natural and high quality.
Make sure to add these new items into your routine slowly so your skin doesn't freak out from a big sudden change. Whatever you end up wanting to buy, be sure to get samples first to make sure it works well with your skin.

Serum: definitely a Vitamin C serum (probably IS Clinical, PSF, or Vivier for normal skin)
Toner: Phytomer Rose Visage
Cleanser: lots of different ones to chose from for your skin type. Which type of cleanser do you prefer?
Moisturiser: this is a tough one. Lots of products would fit your skin type as well. You might want to chose someone firming or something with a bit of retinol for night time use. I'm currently using AminoGenesis Photolagen. I am not sure if it's supposed to be firming but it's for overall sun damage and prematurely aging skin. I'm liking it so far. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel might also be a good one - it seems to be hit or miss with people though so try a sample first. |

Thank you for your suggestions!
I have been looking at the DIY recipes with interest - I never thought you would be able to make your own skin care products! But from reading the posts on here it seems like they all work!
First on my list to try is the vitamin C serum - just need to get my hands on the ingredients! |

Cleanser: Eve Lom Cleansing Cream (superb in taking stubborn make up even the waterproof one)
Toner: Lavender Water from local health shop (very calming and soothing, use it all over the face and body for calming effect after long day)
Serum: Henry Tianus Antioxidant Youthful Essence (20% Vit C and antiageing ingredients do seem to firm up my skin and make it more radiant) |
