I received my samples from Everyday Minerals today and luckily it was before I got ready for the day so I got to try them right away!! I got the semi-matte version in light, fairly light and medium. The samples were free, just had to pay shipping. The light and fairly light have yellow undertones and the medium is more neutral/peachy.
I usually wear MAC NC20, or JI warm silk/warm sienna mixed. The fairly light is the perfect shade for now, but in the summer I'll be needing to mix in some medium to darken it up. (Medium on its own was too dark).
The samples came in small jars similar to the JI samples I got from skin-etc.com. They were filled to the rim with powder, but unfortunately no sifter so it was a bit messy. I used a plate to swirl my brush and get the minerals evenly on the brush, then transfered the extra minerals onto a piece of paper which I folded and tried to get the extra minerals into the jar...Maybe I'll just use paper tomorrow.
The powder went on quite well (and I was using a drugstore -quo- powder brush). I did 3-4 light layers since my skin is misbehaving. The powder covered my red zits well, but didn't cover my acne scars as well so I used a regular concealer and set it with the minerals. I do have one scabby zit and the minerals covered it as well.
The minerals have a mild shine/glow to them. It's not obvious..my mom thought it looked really natural. The product didn't settle into my lines as I applied more layers which I've experienced from other brands.
Ingredients: Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides, Zinc Oxide.
So overall I'm very impressed. I especially like the price, a full size jar is only $12. I also ordered samples of Monave and Pure Lux that should arrive anyday. (monave arrived but I have to pick it up and pay duty - WTH!? duty on samples!?).
I'll update this thread after a few more uses, and will review my other samples as soon as I can. |

I also just ordered samples of these and can't wait to get them. I have been using minerals since way back and was a die hard Jane Iredale fan for so long. I lost track of the all the new ones out there, but I have just burned a hole in the ole cc ordering samples of new ones. |

I also received samples from everyday minerals, but when I applied them, I did not see any great coverage, or improvement over what I am am using currently, (philosophy air brush foundation). I am 45 yrs old, normal to dry skin. If you need full coverage, this will not accomplish it. |

As I wore the Everyday Minerals yesterday I noticed a few things.
1 - coverage wore off during the day. I had to reapply after 4-5 hours (won't do well in humid areas because this stuff literally melted 10 minutes into my workout)
2 - colour seemed to change during the day too. It got sort of pinkish which didn't suit me.
3 - this product is more 'glowy' than I originally thought.
Today I got my pure luxe samples and have them on so I'll review them at the end of the day.. |
