I was given the name & number of the salon in NYC that has the scoop on the color conversion. They just called back they actually spoke with the creator and I have gotten this info. The looses does not contain Bismuth the pressed contains less than 1% which is nothing at all. The color for myself JI Warm Silk (True Medium #2) JI Golden Glow (True Tan #2) The name of the salon is Restore Spa 212-877-5500 ask for Janice or leave a message. You also can order from them no tax and $6.50 shipping cost of foundation is $40 USD. Hope this helps everyone. Also they actually asked the chemist about the Bismuth and the creator was the one that did the shade conversion. |

Actually I just ordered them from EDS the shipping was less and I get samples The price is the same from the salon but the shipping was more and no samples. Iam sure they will ship outside the US. i did talk again to the salon and the girl I spoke with uses the product and she said the application is the same as with JI pressed so i can't wait to try it. I did tell them that people may be calling and they are going to get a conversion chart for the major MMU's. i do have to say that when I called EDS they were not helpful at all and I was told that I would just have to try whatever color that I thought would match and that was that. So the only reason that I ordered from this site was shipping cost and samples. I did not have a good customer relation response |

Ouch. Well that is not good. I love this site, although I do not order from it. I am unware of the customer service end of it. I use one site to order my TRUE from, because I get it immed and another site for all my skin care products from. I do believe in loyalty and since they have always been great to me, I continue to give them my business. Good luck with your color |

Wow - I wish I had read this earlier! I had the same problem - I wanted to try TRUE loose but EDS said that I just had to take a chance with a color when ordering. I ordered Medium #3 which was So Pink, I can't imagine anyone wearing it! Anyway, I didn't open it but I called the TRUE company and asked them to describe their colors over the phone. I am sending EDS back Medium #3 and trying for Medium #1, which TRUE said is more "golden brown," and also a little lighter than #3.
I really love JI loose in Radiant, I hope what I ordered is similar. I assume that EDS won't give me a problem exchanging, since the first one I received was untouched and I mailed it back today...... |

THANK YOU so much for this info! I’ve been wanting to try the True pressed foundation, but also was unsure of the color conversion. I wear JI pressed powder in “Warm Silk” and “Amber” (I put a little bit of both on my brush and apply them together for the perfect match to my skin tone), so I guess I need to contact the Restore Spa to find out which True pressed shade/s would be the equivilent. I don’t suppose you have an email address for the spa or Miss Janice?!

Let us know how that works out for you, because I didn’t think you could return stuff to EDS unless it was damaged or something. I think we Americans are spoiled by the return policies we have here in the U.S. because most of the other members living overseas report that most of their countries do not offer the same sort of “no questions asked” return policies that we seem to take for granted! |

P.S. I was hoping I could find an online retailer that offered samples of True Cosmetics for sale, like the Jane Iredale samples you can purchase fromwww.skin-etc.com so I just googled “True Cosmetics” and naturally find a link to their official website on which they have a locator service: http://www.truecosmetics.com/site/SpaLocator.asp – as luck would have it, there is a salon in Austin that carries their line so I guess I’ll be heading there to check out the colors in person if I can’t get an answer when I email the company directly regarding the brand/color conversion stuff. For the record, True Cosmetics email address is info@truecosmetics.com.
I’ll keep you posted.... |

Yes, there are definite differences with return policies in different parts of the world! When I originally ordered the Medium #3 from EDS the person who took my order said that I can exchange the color as long as it was unopened and unused, which this definitely was. The pot it is in is clear, you can see the color without opening it. Of course, I will pay for shipping.
Such a pain when you can't get samples of minerals, trying to guess your color is rough when you can't see them in front of you. I am currently very into using minerals and have tons of samples from lots of sellers, but am out of luck with TRUE since I don't want to drag into NYC to see their line and there isn't a retailer closer. Hopefully, #1 will work out once EDS sends it to me, or else I have to give up with this particular line because I can't keep exchanging. |

This stuff sounds very interesting.
Has anyone any experience with the True Loose Foundation Powder? I'd love to know what kind of coverage it gives (particularly how it looks on dry skin and fines lines in comparison to Jane Iredale). Also, does it leave the skin looking shiny? |

Hi Majorb -
Just wanted to let you know that a nice way to get loose minerals to look good on dry skin is to mix it with a good aloe vera first, like Aubrey's.
Makes a huge difference in how it looks! Sheer, helps with pores, and gives a subtle glow.
Just thought you may want to know........ |

I really want to get the True pressed, but I find that it is so difficult to match my skin. JI warm silk was too dark and brown for me while bisque was just a touch too light and yellow. Any ideas for a possible True match?

Thanks for the info
Hmm. I was debating between the Fair 1 and and Medium 2, but if the Medium 2 is very light, then Fair 1 would certainly be too light. How odd that Fair 2 seems darker than the Medium 2. I wish that there were color descriptions somewhere about undertones of these shades, etc. I have light, light olive skin that is so difficult to match. I just can't decide from online color swatches
Are you able to use the Medium 2?

If you are still having trouble deciding and you can call the spa in NY and they will get the color conversion back to you. The Medium shades are for people that have yellow undertones in the skin also the web sit for True has a #toll free number that they can explain the colors to you also. iam waiting for my Medium #2 and I also hope its the right shade |

Tina,
My coloring is more medium with a slight red undertone.I use the True as my first coat and then I dust a darker shade of JI over it. Med#2's undertones are yellow which would work for me if the color was a tad darker but Med#3 looks really pink in the pics.I would love to hear from someone who has tried the Light#2.I'm tempted to try it but I hate to put out another $40 for the wrong shade.

What shade in JI are you? They told me Warm Silk was Med #2 and Golden Glow was Tan #2 |

Yes, Medium #3 is what I had and returned - it is unbelievably pink! I am trying now for Medium #1.
The people at TRUE told me that the #1's are golden brown, #2's are yellows, #3's are neutral, and #4's are peach.
Good luck.....
BTW - I will post once I recieve Medium #1 to let you know what I think. |

Red Head,
When I ordered my pressed JI they sent me the wrong shade which happened to be Honey Bronze. I never would of ordered it because it's listed as a cool shade and I usually lean toward warms or neutrals. I used it not realizing it wasn't the color that I ordered, so I couldn't return it. I was surprised that I was able to use it. One thing I found in my mineral makeup hunt is that everything Iv'e ordered is always lighter than it appears online. |

That is true-I have a salon near me that sells Jane so I could see the colors and have them try them on me to pick. They also never thought that Warm Silk would be for me put with my undertones it was so I am hoping that the True is the right shade if not another mistake maybe I can mix it |

Girlzmommie - Thanks for the tip. Actually, the powder looks fine on my face, but the effect is really shiny. Although I have dry skin, for which the loose powder's usually recommended, I'm wondering about trying the pressed instead to see if that would give a more matte effect.
Mind you, I just received a small pot of BE Mineral Veil yesterday and absolutely adore it! I've found that it gives an even better, more natural look by itself, rather than over foundation.
It not only mattifies my skin, it also evens out the tone, enhancing my complexion rather than covering it up. Looks so light that you can't tell I'm wearing anything at all on my face. I think it'll be fantastic for summer. |
