Hi Dermalogican,
From what I've learnt from this forum, the Elicina product made from 80% snail extract is suppose to be very good for acne scars according to Queenpedauque. She incorporates the lotion with a moisturiser and has seen a difference for fading scars and evening out skintone... also it's meant to be quite inexpensive ($US30.00). Perhaps you could contact Queenpedauque if you have more queries re: the product !
Casper's Mum has also recommended a few products for repairing scars: Dermatix Gel which also helps fade keloid (raised) scars! Decleor Prologene Gel is another product to consider for repairing trauma.... I'm not sure if these are suitable for acne scars however-- you might like to email the aestheticians at EDS to confirm !
Can I just make a small point about crusty scars :P I know that it's really tempting to pick the crusts off but you should just leave them til' they're ripe n ready to come off by themselves-- I was a 'picker' myself and was warned by my mum to never ever remove scabs (to avoid being scarred for life-- that's how she scared me into submission !:P). The scab forms the protective layer for the new inner pink skin, so when it's removed the raw skin beneath isn't healed yet and usually end up forming a dark scar. So I can say as a "preventative" scarring method, it's really worth NOT picking or peeling scabs of any kind !! When the scabs come off, remember to protect with sunblock. The sun is bad news for fresh scars. HTH
