Hey guys! Just was wondering how people are coming along with the whitening/lightening products they're using.

I want to get the strongest, fastest product that DOES NOT CONTAIN hydroquinone.

Is there anything out there that will fade freckles in a month? 2 months? 3 months?

In some areas, I have dark beauty marks about the size of a pencil eraser.

So I guess I'd like to know what is the absolute best whitening product out there that is safe to use that won't cause adverse effects.

THANKS! Cool

I have used the Laura Mercier Skin Illuminating Brightener for nearly three weeks now and it has faded all my freckles. The active ingredient is Chinpi extract which inhibits melanin production. I was so impressed with the product that I have written a review of it as well. People have started to notice the clarity of my skin and I have stopped using foundation.

COOL! All your freckles are gone?! That's what I like to hear. The website says it's $68.00 Sad which I definitely don't have, being a student and all. Any discount codes? Do they sell it at department stores cheaper?

Also, this Chinpi extract.. I just did a google search on it and this website said that it's called "Chinpi" in Korea. Westerners call it "Orange Peel". Razz !!! So perhaps I should find a product whose active ingredient is orange peel? This is the website...

Thanks for the reply! Very helpful!

I went to a "spa" party last night (Beauty Control products) and I was talking to one of the girls there that swears by pineapples! She rubs pineapples on her face for a couple of minutes then lets it stand for a few more and then she rinses. She said it got rid of all of her freckles and sun spots. You cant get much cheaper than that!

Olivia... sounds like it hurts! HA, just kidding, I'm such a jokester. Use the INSIDE of the pineapple haha.

Does she use a fresh pineapple or canned ones? Also, did she say how long it took for them to fade? Thanks ma'am!

Hi Jamie630, I was dubious about this chinpi ingredient before I started using this product and I must say that I feel even more uncertain after reading that website. How can orange peel reach deep into the epidermis and inhibit melanin production? All I know is that the product works, but I think there might be some other ingredients in there that are lightening the skin, but I remember looking at the ingredient list and could not spot any of the usual suspects for skin lightening.

I do not know if this works or not, but right before smoothskin's review I had already ordered a product (I really wanted to try this LM product, too). It is from Vivant and the man who developed this (Dr. Fulton) is the co-developer of Retin A. Anyway the product is called Mandelic Acid. My order has just been sent out as they have been closed, but if you google vivant skin care you should be able to see the site. Also, they have travel sizes, which is what I ordered and I believe they are 1/2 price of the big bottles. I think I paid about $26. Maybe check that out. It might help. Once I get to start using it, I will write a review on it. HTH.
