I've noticed that alot of ladies like the all natural approach to skincare, which I think is great. I'm wondering has anyone tried some of the brands and what you think. I've seen these in my health food stores, besides DH.
Derma-E - Large line of products at a very reasonable price.
Borlind from Germany
Oh..now I can think of the other ones. Let me know.
THanks,

Hi Kittyd,
I really like the Borlind line. If it were less expensive, I would be using it all the time. I love the smell of the combo skin line and really like what it did for my skin. I also really like their eye cream.
I just recently purchased the Derma e hyaluronic acid refreshing mist but haven't used it that much as I really didn't notice anything special about it. Sometimes I'll spray it on my face to set my makeup. It's kind of perfumey and doesn't have as natural a scent as I prefer. Just my opinion though.
There are lots of great lines to choose from at the health food store. I could spend hours looking at everything and checking it all out. |

I too used the Borlind once, it was very nice and a little spendy. There were a couple of things from Derma e I was eyeballing. Something with DMAE in it or ester c. I guess you just have to buy it and try it right.
Thanks,

A lot of those health food store brands are no better then all the other regular lines. Look at the ingredients and make sure it doesn't contain any unnatural perservatives like parabens etc. (look up xenoestrogens) and that they don't contain a list full of other harsh ingredients like petrochemicals etc.

That's really the deal. Things work differently on everyone. If you can get samples your're much better off though, then you're not wasting your money.

Ditto, you really need to read those labels. Just because the product is in a natural food store doesn't mean it's clean. Even within the same line some products may be ok and others not. Best source of information I've found on this is Aubrey Hampton's book: "Natural Organic Hair & Skin Care: Including A to Z Guide to Natural and Synthetic Chemicals in Cosmetics". |

I never tried Borlind because of the ingredients. I do love Aubrey Organics and Weleda. Very good ingredients and nice products, definitely worth a try! |
