Blisslabs is that famous spa in NY that supposedly celebrities go to. I've never been, but I did try the middleweight (for normal skin) and low fat (for oily skin) cleansing milk. I would say that they are fair. I only tried samples though, so maybe it would be better for long term use. They were both comparable with the same milky texture. But they didn't WOW me, and I think there are better products out there. I would like to try the Remede Alchemy cleansing milk formulated in France with the help of Bliss Labs founder. It's on my list of cleansers to try as it supposedly is good for getting rid of blackheads. |

Cleanser that is good for getting rid of blackheads, Thoughtcrime, please count me in when you find one.
I hate my blackheads, they are mostly on my nose and they are so small and so hard to ged rid of. I have a Tweezerman blackheads extractor, the funny looking tool with two weird heads as a gift ( my blackheads must be super visible that my aunt took pity on me to give me this one...hic hic...), but I don't know how to use it. And they always come back right after I think I just killed them all. Are they something that we have to deal with all the time all of our life ? |

Hey Babyfish
I've got one of these too and find that it's pretty good. You do have to steam your face first though otherwise it's painful and doesn't achieve much. I find that if I have a warm bath for about 15 minutes that steams up my face enough to make using the Tweezerman extractor quite effective. Mind you, I also use the Blackmores Blackhead Remover Lotion (a steam-treatment that you use prior to extractions).

Hi Mabsy,
Does removing blackheads this way aggravate them more ? I've never even attempted to remove the blackheads on my nose-- they're tiny but I can see them. Do the blackheads disappear altogether once you've successfully removed the plug or do they come back? and does the process swell up your nose?
My nan had a medical condition in her old age-- I can't remember what it is called at the moment, where her nose was red and enlarged, with huge pores...so I'm wary about any sort of manipulation there.

Summertimegirl,
The blackheads do come back, the extraction is just a way of temporarily cleaning out the pores. If you do the extraction without properly steaming your face then, yes, you will end up with marks and maybe even slightly swollen bits (for a while). But if you do it properly it's quite satisfying I know there are people that refuse to do extractions and refuse to use Biore pore strips because they say that it enlarges the pores. But I have not noticed anything like that. Besides, I don't do it often. Come to think of it I think I might go have a bath and do it now. I haven't done it for a while

Not to be graphic, but what do the blackheads look like after you extract them? Are they actually black dots? I would like to try extracting them as well, but like summertimegirl I'm afraid of making marks, open pores, or causing more damage. Mabsy one of these says could you do a review on Blackmores Blackhead Remover Lotion? :P |
