Has anyone found that retin a has gotten rid of your blackheads? Does anyone know if a doctor will even prescribe it for people who have blackheads only? I dont have pimples, I just seem to get alot of blackheads all down my tzone. I'm sick of getting them even though they're not noticable under makeup, it would be nice to go without makeup for once!
I've tried BHA products but they only helped a bit.
Thanks
I'm usually careful about what I put on my skin and check for anything pore clogging but the problem still persists! |

Hi carolb69, I think your dr will perscribe it to you if you tell him/her your concern.
I just went to the derm, and I told him I want retin a for blackheads in my nose, and he gave me a bunch of samples to try. He also said that if I like it and it does not cause irritation, he will prescribe it (my skin is kinda sensitive). I just started using it, so I will elt you know the result in a couple of weeks how it works ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Hi Carolb69, my friend tried it for the same reason, but it didn't helped her skin to get rid of blackheads. Everyone is different though... May be you will see the improvements. Have you tried the OCM method? It helps. Also, do you take any vitamines, fish oil?
Keep us posted with the results of using retin ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

Hi Lara1 I havent tried the oil cleansing method yet(maybe I should)I've heard good feedback.
I take a multi and have just started taking zinc tablets.I dont take a fish oil supplement but sometimes I'll take a tablespoon of flaxseed oil when I remember.I dont know if a tablespoon supplies the right amounts though ![Very Happy](images/smiles/biggrin.gif) |

Hello
My derma prescribed me .025 tretinoin. It helped cleared my blackheads a bit. If yours is persistent, maybe you can go for .5 or even 1% ![Smile](images/smiles/smile.gif) |

I've used retin A to make blackheads easier to squeeze out. You're not supposed to squeeze, I know. But the Retin A makes them much softer so you don't have to squeeze very hard. |
