I was excited when I finally found the section for "DIY Recipes", then got tired of trying to find what I was looking for, there's lots of posts in there along with the recipes, and I got all caught up just reading the posts, LOL.
I wish the recipes could be there without the posts, really, oh well....
But, what I'm trying to find are some wonderful DIY recipes for face gels for oily people with acne, and for face gels for people with rosacea, or lightweight serums with no oil or just a tiny bit of oil.
My skin loves gels but I didn't have much luck with Xanthum Gum, it didn't dissolve well.
Please help me by posting in my thread here some of your wonderful face gels for acne/rosacea that use BHAs preferably or lactic acid, or AHAs, or tea tree oil.
Or tell me the easiest way to search for these on this forum.
Thanks |

You can use unflavored gelatin as a base for a face gel and then add your preferred AHA, BHA, or lactic acid natural ingredient. AHA's would be your citrus fruit, like the juice of a lemon, lime or orange. Crushing up a plain aspirin would give you a BHA component and a milk product such as plain yogurt, milk or cream would give you the lactic acid.
You need to play around with the amounts to get the consistency just the way you want it but you can also add ingredients like aloe vera from the leaf of a plant you might have for its healing properties... the possibilites are amost endless!
Have fun! |

Thanks SSue, I've played around with gelatin before, and it just seemed so sticky. I guess I needed to add more water or liquids or somthing.
Thanks for the ideas, i'll try. |
