Hey ladies and a couple of gents. If you read my last post, you'll know that my face has broken out. It's also red and irritated because I've been poking and popping and rubbing too much when putting on make-up and treating it with a 2.0 % salycilic acid astringent (Clean & Clear) and Proactiv's Purifying Mask. I also have rough, dry patches on the sides of my cheeks. It's just a red, irritated, painful mess.
Right now, I have four zits that have pus in them. The other seven or eight spots are the aftermath. They're elevated, really red, and flaky!
Are there any tips you guys can give me? Things I can do tonight that will just cleanse me? Make my skin just look fresher and be more moisturized and less painful by tomorrow morning?
Water? How much and when should I drink it? I'll drink as much water as I have to to get the maximum results!
I'm not expecting anything dramatic, but All tips are greatly greatly appreciated! |

If you have any Benzoyl Peroxide, use it-I would spot treat your bad areas.
Its not a great idea (and after your weekend-I'm hestitate to even suggest it ), but on my face....zits with pus ~get popped. If you pierce the surface with a sterile needle, you could gently squeeze the gunk out. Use a warm wash cloth afterwards. |

I've always had great results from using a facial loofah. |

Personally this is what I would do:
where you still have pus, put apple cider vinegar and sea salt onto a cotton pad, and hold it on those spots for as long as you can. This will either get the pus out (if they're about to erupt) or will make the bumps smaller if they're just forming.
If you have flax or fish oil, I'd rub that onto the rough and sensitive patches and leave it on for a few hours.
And drink water not more than 1 cup / hour but consistently all day.
And take loads of vitamin C or echinacea if you have any (both help with healing, Echinacea taken internally is great for any skin problems, esp. if you keep taking it for a month but it usually helps me within 2-3 days for any major problems). |

one thing that works for me to tone down the redness from a breakout is sleeping with a mixture of aspirin disolved in aloe or water and mixed with neosporin or bacitracin on the affected areas. might be worth a try? |

Try RoC PURIF-AC Fast Action Gel. It helps diminish the size of the blemish in 8 hours. You can actually notice the difference. |

I also recommend an aspirin mask. I have mild breakouts and the aspirin mask has made a big difference in my complexion. |

I've found that PSF O2 serum really heals redness, pimples and boils. In under 2 days I see major improvements.
I would give your skin a break from the harsh stuff and just use ACV and something soothing for a day (maybe give your face a soak with a cloth soaked in ACV. |
