Hello everyone, already finding a wealth of info from you guys. I have specific ? re: eye makeup for sensitive eyes. I've had sensitive for a while, allergies, puffiness, redness, but it seems to be getting worse as I get older, ? my perception. My eyelids seem itchy, my eyes feel blurry. My eyeliner smears not smugdes( the good kind). Over the last 6-9mo. I've been using Okusil from JB and Teamine from Revision.I don't put these on before eye makeup though. I recently bought some Mac eye shadows and one from Lorac and my eyes are blurry and sclera red after about 6hrs.( I work 12hr. shifts)Any suggestions? esp. what I might try in the way of makeup and esp. eyeliner? I know I'm asking alot the 1st time I'm posting, but I need HELP!!!! thanks, Janet. |

I suggest looking into mineral make-up for your sensitive eyes.
There are so many brands now to choose from: Jane Iredale, Bare Escentuals, Physicians Formula, Glominerals are a few off the top of my head. |

hi there, new here also:) I have the same problem. A couple months ago, I started going w/o any eye makeup because it was so bad. I was not really happy going bare, but can't say I looked any better WITH eye makeup as I was constantly wiping tears, red eyed, and running black mascara. Lovely LOL.
I found and started using "Neutrogena clean lash tint" about a month ago, and really like it. It's a really natural look and it cleans off super fast and easy when ready to remove it... which is great Especially if you have sensitive eyes. I use "cetaphil sensitive" for cleansing my face.
I have found the mascara in Walgreens and Riteaid, I imagine walmart and other places would carry it also.
I also started using "Ardell" for eyelash growth to minimize the amount of mascara, the combo is working great for me. I am not really sure if it's the tint in the mascara or the ardell, but I swear my lashes are darker and longer. When I first noticed it I was cleaning my face and thought I had not gotten all my mascara off and tried cleaning them again LOL. I like that because it means I can wear less product during the day= less irritation. If you try the ardell, use at night just before bed and wash off first thing in the morn. Found this at Rite Aid btw.
I am using Loreal eye powders and they are okay if I use only a bit, but looking for something better, will be trying this "mineral eye makeup"! I was sooo close to buying some just yesterday, neutrogena had some, but decided to check it out here first and found my answer in your post! Thankyou Rosebud:)
I also am going to try green tea or chamomile tea bags on the eyes soon- I hear it is very soothing.
good luck! Allie Grace |
