Hello everyone,
I'm still looking for that perfect sunblock that wouldn't irritate my skin. I found on EDS: 1)Peter Thomas Roth Titanium Dioxide Sunblock SPF30,2)Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Titanium Dioxide Sunblock SPF30, 3) Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Oil Free Sunblock SPF30.
The description is almoust the same for all of them.
There are no ingredients for the first sunblock, can someone post it, please? Any comments on those sunblocks?
Thanks in advance

I use the Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Oil Free Sunblock SPF30.
I'm sure it's a good product and I trust it's protecting me from the sun... but to be honest, it's a little heavy for my tastes, despite its claim of being "ultra lite." It also makes my face pretty shiny.
Then again, I am a newbie to the daily sunblock use thing, so maybe that's just the nature of sunblock in general.
But I am definitely on the look-out for a product that actually feels light and moisturizes without leaving shine.
Any suggestions, anyone? |

Lara,
EDS consultants recommended a PTR sunblock for use with my PTR Botanical Lightening Gel. I opted for Dr. Hauschka sunblock instead. It's actually intended for the body but states that it can be used on face as well.
It took me a few times to adjust the quantity so I didn't look like a total freak clown with white face, but now it's working great.
This is the one I'm talking about:
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/dr-hauschka-sunscreen-cre-p_2087.htm
I chose it because of natural ingredients, the fact that it uses Titanium Dioxide (more natural than avobenzones). I know that PTR also uses Titanium Dioxide but it has parabens in it (all of them I think). I've read a few times that parabens cause sun sensitivity in some people, and I don't need any more hyperpigmentation so didn't want to risk it. I'm not 100% sure if there's any validity to this claim re: parabens but I try to minimize exposure to these "alien" things as much as I reasonably can.
If your skin is sensitive, you may want to think about that. |

Sofina is the best sunscreen I've ever used. I recommended it in another thread but I have to say it again because I love it so much.
I'm currently using Sofina Perfect UV with SPF50 and Pa+++. It is watery, sinks in immediately to give a matte (and powdery) finish and keep my oilies at bay for the whole day!
If you prefer a lower SPF one, you may also try Sofina Rise UV Cut Milk with SPF24 and Pa +++. This one also serves as a moisturizer. |

I've used the PTR Titanium Dioxide sunblock, but could never get past the clown face. I have pale Asian skin...and when I saw 'Memoirs of a Geisha" it definitely reminded me of my PTR sunblock episode. Shiseido has a fabulous micronized zinc oxide, titanium dioxide sunblock in lotion and cream. This works great as a foundation primer also! |

I use Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Oil Free Sunblock SPF30. Not impressed with it. Like Janis, it still feels heavy on my face. the only reason I am still using it is to finish it. |

Hello Margot, is Shiseido a physical sunblock, or it has some chemicals also?
Thanks |

That is what I'm afraid of...to be with this white residue on my face that is usually make my skin break out . |

Hello Pumaka,
yes, my skin is sensitive. I can't use D.H. products, because I have allergy on the ingredients of that product . |

Lara,
I'm curious, are you allergic to one specific ingredient in Dr. Hauschka sunblock? or do you mean you're allergic to the entire line? I've had mixed results with Dr. H, with some products being wonderful for me and others just horrible. |

I tried a few creams from D.H. and had really bad reaction, such as blisters. My allergologist can't test me on all botanicals and plants (he said he doesn't have them ). I'm allergic to almost all botanical extracts , so I'm not sure on what exactly I reacted, because there are so many of them in D.H. product.
But I definitely don't want to try anything from D.H. product again. |

I wanted to try Skinceutical(not sure if that is correct spelling), or DDF organic sunblock(which they don't sell in Canada ). I just ordered Lavera Sunscreen SPF 30. It is for Babies, Kids, and people with sensitive skin. 100% natural, mineral based and non-toxic ingredients. It has organic oils from Shea butter, Jojoba, Apricot kernel, and Sweet Almonds.
What type of skin do you have? |

Laral, the Shiseido sunscreens do contain a chemical block, unlike the PTR Titanium. It might be worth getting a sample and trying it though. I have pretty sensitive skin that breaks out in a rash with a lot of sunscreen products and I've never had problems with these. |
