I'm using skinceuticals c e ferulic and dont really like how much it gets exposed to air with their bottle/dropper.
I have a small plastic pump top bottle that psf sent me with their c serum in(it is a sample)
I'm thinking once I use it to keep the bottle and transfer my skinceuticals into it.
Do you think it would be okay to do this? All c serums seem to be in dark bottles for some reason
TIA |

C serums are in dark bottles because vit C is sensitive to light. You want to keep it away from the dark and not exposed to air as much as possible in order to slow down the rate at which it degrades. I am not sure about keeping it in a plastic container - I would prefer glass myself to minimise any chances of reactions, and also something without any metal components inside. My additional thought to this is that even if you put it into a pump bottle (that is not one of those vacuum ones) then there is still air in there and the product still oxidises.
Also, having just received my 5mL pump bottle of StimuColl from PSF (which uses the same pump packaging as the one you're talking about I think) I am absolutely *hating* it (not the product, the packaging). I cannot control the pump action well enough to get just what I need so I almost always either (a) get too much out, or, (b) have it squirt out in various directions. At this rate I will have finished StimuColl by the end of the week |
