Hi! I'm new to this site and my name is shena. I've been interested in buying mineral makeup and wanted to know if the heavy water mists (from jane iredale, or other mineral makeup lines) work, if they're necessary ( or will plain water do) and if they moisturize well ( I have combination skin)? I'd appreciate any help anyone can offer. Thanx. |

Hi Shena and welcome to the forum!
I haven't read that any of the girls on the forum follow up with the JI D2O Hydration after their mineral make-up application (YET!)
As it's heavier than normal water, there are benefits such that it doesn't evaporate as quickly and hydrates wonderfully, has greater UVA/UVB protection than normal water and has anti-bacterial properties.
I haven't tried the JI Hydration myself but I can recommend Evian Mineral Water Spray. It's a great all-round beauty item-- I used it as a toner, to set make-up, to revive my make-up and to keep my skin hydrated during the day. The mist is ultra fine and refreshing, you can keep your eyes open when spraying it on. It has no scent and is perfect for people with sensitive skin, and of course so gentle it's ideal for babies. It's sold in supermarkets, chemists and department stores so perhaps you'd like to give it a try to see how you like water misting works for you if you're curious about the JI Hydration.

Hello Shena!
I have a bottle of JI D2O Hydration and I really love it. It gives your face a more lively look instead of mask- look after having foundation, just like you have really nice complexion, moist and dewy. I have oily combination skin, in summer I skip moisturizer and spray my face with this water mist before putting on any makeup and during the day to revive it. I also love Evian just as much as Summertime does. And of course, it's not a "must have", but just an "extra touch" for very fussy beauty junkies like most of us here.
Also Shena, when you mentioned plain water, do you mean water from the faucet. Well, that's a different story then. I'm very blessed to live in BC, Canada. We have the best water source. But everytime I travel to LA or Las Vegas, after taking the first shower there, I always get some kind of rash. And I was horrified to be told that the water we were using then was recycled at least 6 times during the day. So, depends on where you live and how good your water source is, to refresh your face with water, I think I prefer mineral water. And one bottle will last you a long time. Hope this helps. |
