The foundation I am using just now - Mac seems to leave my skin awful dry looking and does nothing for the wrinkles around my eyes - maybe even makes them stand out even more. I am looking for a new foundation - one that gives me more of a "glow". Not too expensive though and not too thick... Any suggestions?
(Oh and one that has a good sunscreen in it would be even better)

I think that the Chanel foundations could be just what you are looking for, they should give you a selection of samples to try at the counter before you buy to try out first |

I've been on a real liquid foundation search these last 6 months and have tried everything from Chanel to Maybelline!
I've found all MAC foundations have silica high on the ingredient list which can be drying and irritating for sensitive skin. I can't use any of their foundations. Chanel also has silica and other irritants.
A good drugstore foundation is Revlon Age Defying, it has a physical sunscreen, I believe SPF 20, two formulas for dry and combination skin. It also has salicylic acid for exfoliation (I'm assuming), it irritated my skin a bit but I'm sure many others could use this foundation without trouble. It has a thin consistency and covers really well. I liked it a lot and was disappointed I couldn't use it. Also, Revlon has good foundation shades, they are generally neutral not too pink or peach.
Another one is Maybelline Age Rewind, it has a chemical sunscreen so I just can't use it (irritated my skin a bit but mostly my eyes). The shades aren't as nice as Revlon's. Check outwww.makeupalley.com for reviews on both.
I also really like Trucco Skin Tones, would recommend it to anyone though who doesn't have a sensitivity to chemical sunscreen, the finish was unbelievably natural (had a lot to do with the perfect shade match). It is really thin and is about the cost of MAC foundations. The packaging is really cool and practical too. It doesn't have anti aging properties (actives) but it does have SPF 15 and isn't matte. |

How bout something that doesn't settle into our wrinkles? Seems like they all do that.
I did try mineral pwder m/u but I'm always a bit heavy-handed with it and still manage to make it look overdone and you can see all my wrinkles. I feel I actually look better without foundation.
If there is something out there that does not settle in the lines, I'd love to hear about it.
Thnx |

what about clinique's repairwear foundation, it's anti aging and i think it has spf 15. Also it helps repair the skin (as the name suggests ).

Try Prescriptives Traceless Skin Responsive Tint. More of a veil of color than a base, it does seem to do well with lines (little or no settling) and adds a bit of moisture as well. |

Have to say that I'm loving that NextofSkin moisturizing make-up from Origins. Finally got to that age where I couldn't use the matte finish make-ups anymore. They were just too drying and made me look older. This is very good coverage (adjustable from light to heavy) and nicely moisurizing without any weight or greasiness. Nice color range selection as well. |

Chanel foundation would be perfect for you. The Vitalumiere is awesome for dry skin and it gives a nice dewy glow. |

For an inexpensive drug-store foundation, I second the recommendation for Revlon's Age-Defying Make-up.
They make a tinted moisturizer called Age-Defying Light make-up which comes in small flat plastic tubes. I found I preferred this to the regular Age-Defying foundation (which really settled into lines around my eyes), as it was very light and gave my face a subtle glow. It also has an excellent SPF: 30, which is one of the highest I've seen for foundation. |
