The website is finally onlinewww.remergentskin.com/
Definately not a cheap line, no cleansers etc., only treatments.
I was going to buy the DNA Repair Serum (US$125) but there was a glitch with shipping and it would not give me a price for Japan. So I have to wait for them to answer my email inquiry.
I wish they had a starter/trial kit to try each of the products.. but for now I only really want to try this DNA serum!! |

Thanks for the update! I just had a look and the DNA serum is the one that interests me as well. I can't get a shipping price for Australia either - though I'm not sure if I'd cave and pay $125 without getting samples first.... |

I did send them an email regarding shipping and was advised that at this time they are not shipping outside US. So I am not sure how we can obtain this product. |

Well, that's my problem solved! I guess I get to save some money for a while Why on earth do they have a country list then! |

Yea, I got the same reply:

Thank you for your interest in Remergent's DNA Repair. I regret to inform you that at the present time, we do not ship our products outside the United States.
We do appreciate your request and hope to open our market radius for customers who live outside our country sometime in the future.
Best regards,

Well, that is Japan and Australia who already inquired.. maybe if they get a few more it might open up the shipping more quickly! |

ARG! Something else to spend my money on. I read about these ingredients a while ago before a commercial product was available. It is a different actor than we're used to so I've got to try it. |

I just looked at their website. It looks very interesting and scientific. But does it actually work? Anybody? |

roadtonowhere: this is a brand new product that was released on the market in March. It was presented at some special skin conference in February I think. The company that makes this (Agiderm) are developing a drug that is under FDA testing that will reverse sun damage through DNA repair. Obviously this line does not include that drug (Demericine), but coming from the same company and being based on that principle is pretty exciting news for me (having parents that are both covered in skin cancers and knowing that is what lies ahead for me as I get older).
There are a couple of past threads on the subject:
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=10378&highlight=sun+cancer
http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=10429&highlight=remergent
So I guess it will be a few months till we start to hear about any results people have, but I for one am lining up my bottle at least of the DNA repair to give it a go. |

Being in Canada I find it hard getting many products that I want as well. This line sounds great, also I wanted to try Cosmedicine line at Sephora, that line is restricted to ship in Canada.
I wonder if a web site calledwww.internationalcheckout.com could help us order these? I came accross it on ebay, they had a great price on Revive's volumizing serum that I purchased. Their site says they can ship mostly any product from U.S. web sites? |

Wow! If this works it could be the best thing since Retin-A. Perhaps better.
Should I order or wait to see what results others have had? |

Tiger_tim: I was trying to read the product description some more... but still confused.
Anyways, this product is for reversing the damage of sun exposure?
What do you think of the sunscreen spf30? |

International Checkout looks interesting, but I think the shipping is hefty. Japan came up as $45 + processing fees (but i cannot find the processing fees )
Whilst I would LOVE to try:
Barrier Repair (AM)
A.M. Moisture SPF 15 (AM)
DNA Repair (PM)
Antioxidant Refoliator (after microderm etc.)
Those 4 would set me back $350, which is a lot for a line I know so little about, so that is why the DNA Repair is my starting point.
I want to confirm with the respective companies though how it would fit into the IS Clinicals I am using (or plan to use) - Super Serum in AM and Active/Poly Vit. (alternating) in the PM.
I am pretty sure the Super Serum/Barrier Repair/A.M. Moisture combo would be OK, but just want to check on the DNA Repair with the Active. I have mailed them, so will let you know what they say.
Ho hum, I need 3 heads to try everything I want.... |

Yes, the principle is to work to repair cellular damage by repairing the damaged DNA - and I believe when the FDA-approved form comes out as a drug, it will prevent skin cancers - till now we get a slightly different version in skin care (is how I understand it)
For me, I have a redness to my face partially due to sun exposure but no nasty wrinkling or sunspots. My aim is to do what I can to prevent damage as I age (I just turned 40) and anything at all that might in the slightest way repair damage that will stop skin cancer cells forming gets to the trial phase with me. I am 100 times more terrified of those than I am of any wrinkling or other cosmetic problem.
I dont think I will go for the 30 sunscreen for a while (have plenty of high SPF to use up) and my face barely sees the sun on weekdays, so the SPF15 moistur would be enough for me. |

HOLY BATMAN!!
I just heard back from that International Checkout. They said that shiping and fees is calculated as you order.
SO I did a dummy order... with 3 (yes, that is THREE) items (we are talkig skin care here) from Remergent. product total was $295
The quoted shipping and handling for Japan using USPS was .. wait for it... $94.79!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG.. there is no product in the WORLD that I could want that badly as to pay that amount!! Seriously, shipping on 3 items like that using USPS (which is HEAPS cheaper than the couriers they offered) would be no more than $20.
I feel faint... |

I wish that I did not see this post. This product sounds intriguing......but I know nothing about the ingredients or technology.
Due to the price, I would initially try the DNA repair formula, since it appears to be the cornerstone of the product line.
BUT.....I also have concerns regarding the other products I use....namely Alpha Derma CE, PSF Stimulcoll, and Eucerin Q10 moisturizer.
(not to mention a plethora of acne fighting products)
Ughh!!!!!!!! Perhaps a representative can be directed to EDS to give us more information. |

Road
The SPF 30 s/s has micro. ZO and TD which are about as good as it gets for an American s/s (non-American are better).
It does not state the percentage of either. It also does not state it has Octinoxate in it, IIRC, you need it to stabilize the formula.
I'll stick with my beloved Shiseido SPF 55. |

Yeah... I did a dummy order ages ago as well (from some other place) and got some ridiculous quote. I can highly recommendwww.shopthestates.com though. I have had my parcels repacked and forwarded by them a number of times and they charge the *real* postage fees plus a handling fee of about $5 per parcel. Lovely customer service as well.

AH. yes, shop the states.. that was the one I looked at a few years back but never ended up using. They definately are MUCH better in terms of price. I might look into them!
Now they would be a great way around Sephora - when they have the 20% off sale.. even if you got Shop the States to do the order, you would still end up with a 15% discount! |

For people outside the USA, I would be willing to purchase the items and ship them to you at cost. I sell internationally on ebay, so though I haven't yet shipped to Japan, I am familiar with some forms of international mail.
The catch is, though I'm not technically brand spanking new here, I'm still "new" to everyone because I mostly lurk and very rarely post. Like a small child, I keep my mouth shut and listen to my betters So there is admittedly a trust issue for you folks to contend with, since I don't have a history here to reassure you, and you would have to PayPal me the money in advance for me to make the order. (We would determine the shipping etc. in advance using USPS, UPS or FEDEX. We'd probably have to use some sort of insured method on something this expensive, and that costs more.)
I feel rather bad that I never have anything constructive to offer this forum, and yet the forum has provided me with such riches - a wealth of information. I'd like to do something to contribute, and this is the only thing I can think of.
However, if you'd all rather wait until someone known comes along with a smiliar offer, I totally understand. Regardless, I hope somehow you guys are able to get the stuff you want!
Sincerely,
M |

Hi "M" (how appropriate you are "spygrrl"). That is a superb offer. I would take you up in a heartbeat, but another member (our lovely "lavieenrose") already PM'd me about getting me some.
And, don't feel like you have nothing to contribute, you do! Everyone does.. when I first arrived I felt that I had nothing substantial to say, but it turned out there were times when I could help someone. Gosh, my 2nd anniversary participating on these boards will come up later this month! Time flies! |
