I finally forked out for IS Clinical's active and hydracool serums after a year of wanting them. Now I see they need to be stored in a cool place. Well, there's nowhere cool in my flat and it's going to get hotter.
Is this really an issue with these particular serums? I thought it was C that oxidized really quickly. I remember reading here that putting C in the fridge was a bad idea because it reacts to extremes of temperature in either direction. So what do other people in hot, humid climates do with their serums? Any suggestions?
Sorry if this has been asked before but I can't find any useful answers. |

Hi Molly,
I tend to store my serums in the refrigerator in the hot weather. I'd never heard that storing Vitamin C serum in the fridge was a bad idea ... indeed, most sources recommend storing it in the refrigerator.

Refrigerator for the summer months even though that means I have to go downstairs to get it. Still if it means the product staying effective longer, it's worth doing. |

That's what I do now. Clean my face, spray rose water, and go downstairs get the Vit-C from the fridge, by the time I put Vit-C on my face the rose water was absorbed and go upstairs to put HA Gel. You're not wasting anytime. Actually it's perfect timing for your skin to absorb your toner and Vit-C. |

I live in a hot climate and haven't had any problems with temperature affecting my vit C serums (that I know of). Mind you, I find that some serums are affected - for example I had to dispose of CSRx's Refinishing Serum because I left it on my bathroom counter when I went away to Europe in December, and of course we had the hottest summer on record in Brisbane (or something along those lines). When I got back it had separated (which was my fault really for leaving it there) |
