Weird problem here.
I just put some hair highlighting stuff into my hair (just a spray, in the family of Sun-In, good for touch-ups). Then for a few minutes, without my knowledge, a peroxide soaked wet strand of hair rested on my face. When I checked in the mirror and moved the strand, I saw a distinct streak of discoloration that it left in its path. I have hair dye on my face!
I just tried washing it off with Cetaphil... then scrubbed a little bit, but that streak of discoloration is still there... it's like a distinct patch where my skin is lighter than the rest of my face.
The thing is, I have a (blind) date this evening, so I really need some tips! If anyone has any suggestions for my problem, please let me know ASAP! |

it is your skin or the peach fuzz hair? If it's the peach fuzz buy a cream hair remover or get it all waxed off. If it's the skin I dunno...cover it with makeup? |

Quite possibly will fade throughout the day...when I put red-reducing eye drops in and let the excess just roll out like tears, it leaves distinct lines/streaks where it rolls...can't wash it off...it fades. Hydrogen peroxide can do this too to my skin. Have a great date! |

Maura, I was a hairdresser for twenty years and there are two things you can use. One is to use a little bit of the color (sounds like a lifting color) to rub the streak. Like product will remove like product. Another thing that removes hair color on the skin (and don't ask me why) is cigarette ash. Wet a cloth, rub it in some ash and gently scrub the streak. Hope one of these works for you! |

Gosh I have no clue how you would remedy this. The only thing I can think of is to try rubbing alcohol.
I hope you can fade it before your date, if not maybe you can style your hair a certain way to cover it... Best of luck! |

it should just fade, i put foils in a friend hair and most of the time i will get bleach on my fingers and the skin goes white, but after a while it fades. If that doesn't happen in time just cover it up with make up.

Previous poster is right, it will fade but might take a couple of days at worst. |

Margo - regarding the cigarette ash...this is basically rubbing a mild lye on your skin. Soap was originally made from ash and lard...lye and fat. It's a great tip - thanks!! |

Hey, guys. So I washed my face a few more times, didn't have to resort to cigarette ash, fortunately... and was able to fade the discoloration. I just covered whatever was remaining with makeup. I don't think it was too bad. And today after my morning shower I checked it out and things seem to be back to normal.
Thanks, everyone, for offering advice. Turns out I didn't have to take any drastic measures, fortunately. |

How did your blind date go?
I used to use that Sun In also, never used gloves to apply it and my hands would sting and be all white and puckered afterwards but it would go off after a few hand washes. |

Actually my date was Saturday, the day OF the Sun-In disaster.
I don't think he noticed what was going on though... it was pretty well disguised by that time.
The date was... let's say... mediocre. I'm not necessarily eager to go on another blind date soon!
Actually though pertaining to Sun-In, I have a couple questions. Hey I'll start a new thread where I'm NOT talking about my blind date! |
