I've been trying all different Vit. C serums, they STILL turn me slightly orange no matter what as the day goes on, and I HATE it. I've tried green tea serums, too, and not happy - believe it or not a get a very slight green cast.

So I need a CLEAR serum, little oil or no oil, glycerin is ok, B5 is good, that is a GOOD antioxidant and hopefully a NATURAL ingredient one.

I'm through with Vit. C in the daytime. I've tried making my own, also.

Should I try Co Q10, or White Tea, or what? I need it to be VERY light-weight and non-oily.

I get so confused trying to think what I should use, I have fibromyalgia and am supposed to use natural products without so much synthetics.

Also need it to be affordable from Ebay or something, like $30 or less if possible : )

Thanks

Hi Ocean,

Sorry you've had so many problems with serums ... and I really don't have any suggestions given that you have tried DIY Vitamin C serums ...

However, I wonder why they turn you orange? [And why goes green tea turn you green?] The only antioxidant that ever turned me orange is beta carrotene ... but that's sort of what it was supposed to do. [Very early "self tanning" things generally had beta carrotene in them ... like we couldn't tell the difference between "orange" and "tanned". Laughing ]

Has anyone ever figured out why you change colour depending upon the antioxidant? I don't think I've ever heard of this happening before ... although I have heard of people having difficulty with makeup turning orange on them.

I wonder what chemical reaction is going on here? And ... if even your own Vitamin C serum turned you orange ... then why would any other clear serum not do so?

Mary

Hi, I don't know why I get an orange cast, it's not permanent, but there's quite a few members on the makeupalley forum that have the same problem with Vit. C, it may have to do with the strength of it. I know one person who can use Paula's Choice antioxidant which has a little Vit. C in it, but can't use other Vit. C serums because of the orange cast. I don't like Paula's Choice products very much at all except for a few cleansers/toners.

Vit. C serum looks a little orange, green tea serum looks a little green, and that color just remains on my skin, I don't know why. So if I use a clear serum without these 2 ingredients I don't think I'll turn "orange" or "green", lol. This sounds silly.

It's just a very slight color on my skin but makes me look BAD or sick or something, yuck.

I thought I was the only one until I started reading on makeup alley about the others. I don't really know what they use, though, I've posted there, but this forum knows more about "natural" products in my opinion.

Anyway, I think if CoQ10 is "clear" in a serum, I'll try that, I just dont know what brand to try that's natural and that's effective and basically oil-free or little oil. I'll also do more search for White Tea serums I guess.

If anyone knows for sure how to make an effective CoQ10 serum with the proper strength and pH please let me know, I know it is probably only oil-soluble (The CoQ10, and I can probably use just a few drops of Rosehip Oil or Primrose Oil or something.

I know where to buy the CoQ10, so that's not a problem. It's just that when I ask about "natural" products on other websited I don't have much luck. Here I usually get good recs. for natural stuff : )

Thanks.
