Sunflower Seed Extract - Contains enriched phyto-nutrients, including a specialized antioxidant that counteracts damage done by peroxide (a free radical). Hair can lose color when exposed to peroxide, whether from sun, bleach, or body condtions. Test prove that SSE decreases the level of peroxides by 69%, so it very effectively maintains rich natural hair color and keeps chemical color from fading.
If anyone uses this, do you know if it is used topically? Is this something that can be applied directly? |

I hadn’t heard this, but I might have to try adding some of it to my dye mixture the next time I color my hair, as well as to my homemade sulfate-free shampoo. (Note: I buy sulfate-free shampoo base from the Personal Formulator, then customize it by including additives to boost shine, volume, health, etc).
In case you think that was a misprint above, I actually DO add grapeseed oil and avocado oil to my actual dye mixture when I color my hair (with Wella Color Charm from Sallys, click here to read my review and product hints http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=7658&highlight=wella+color+colour+charm) – it yields incredibly shiny results! |

Wait, I lied -- I HAVE heard of this: sunflower seed extract is one of the ingredients in the "Hair Color Protector Additive" that I get from the Personal Formulator to customize my homemade shampoo and conditioner!! |

Cool! Thanks, Carekate. So do you suppose if I buy the extract, I can just mix it with my current shampoo? |
