Ladies, I'm looking for a good after-shower body oil. So spill it, what are your favourites?
TIA! |

Before I got into natural products, I loved the Neutrogena Sesame Body Oil (unscented).
Now I usually use Grapeseed oil, don't really know why... I bought some and liked it, but I'm considering mixing up some of Carekate's shave minimizing oil. |

I love using body oils--I usually dry brush first, then use either almond oil (in the winter, it is kind of warming), or if it is really cold, then Weleda arnica oil (medicinal, but excellent for sore and tired muscles), and for summer, Osea's passion body oil (aphrodisiacs are in this oil, and men go crazy over the scent, I don't know why!) |

I’ve actually begun making my own body oil and/or body butter. I have super-dry skin so I’ve using coconut oil, mango butter, cocoa butter, shea butter, lanolin, Vit-E oil, borage oil (it’s the only oil that penetrates the upper dermal layer to heal my dry skin from the inside out), jojoba oil, avocado oil, apricot kernal oil, Emu oil and veggie glycerin. Sometimes I’ll also add a bit of oil-soluable aloe vera extract from the Personal Formulator, which makes it very soothing to apply if you are the slightest bit sunburn or windburn....
You can melt the “hard” oils together and add the liquid oils and either put them in a bottle to use as a body oil or you can beat them with a cake-mixer until they become “whipped,” like you would to make a meringue for a pie.
The best part is that you can add your own fragrance oils to give it whatever scent you like! For best results, I apply my body oil or body butter as soon as I step out of the shower, while my skin is still damp to help seal in the moisture.
I made a huge batch of this body oil for my mom and gave it to her on Valentine’s Day and she’s already used it all up and presented me with the empty jar over the weekend, asking when I will be able to make her more! |

Burt's Bees Apricot Oil! The smell is sooo yummy!!! (The glass bottle is a little unwieldy tho, so I usually decant some into a small plastic spray bottle for easy shower application.) |

I make my own moisture bars for after shower. My recipe sounds similar to Carries except I add beeswax to mine, pour into a mold. Once it cools I have a handy bar that's easy to apply and leaves me soft all day. |

Neal's Yard body oils - These are so inexpensive and smell fantastic, I love the exotic and the orange and geranium body oils. |

Wow, Carrie how did you know I was also waiting for a recipe? Does this oil stay liquid or will the solid oil harden and thicken the mix so that you get a lotion instead? I was hoping I could put it in a spray bottle and make a body mist with it (shower, mist mist and go. lazy, I know... ).
Thanks for all your responses, keep em coming! |

Once you melt the solid oils (shea butter, coconut oil, mango butter, cocoa butter) and add the liquid oils it stays in a liquid-form. I don't really have a recipe, I just start adding stuff together: a dollop of this, a dash of that, a scoop of something else....
Let me know if you need any more info! |

oooh, sounds like yet another use for my kitchenaid stand mixer!!!
Has anyone tried "Jackie's Magic Lotion," which is a blend of oils with no preservatives other than vit e that you have to shake to emulsify? It is extremely moisturizing, and the lavendar scent is particularly nice. They changed hands a while ago and now the formulation is different (which is why I am a devotee of Osea's Ocean Lotion now), but you can get it at a website called "Squeaky Monroe" (this is where I discovered it looking for Living Nature products--I used to be an all-natural JUNKIE!!!) |

I like hazelnut oil. My hubby felt my leg while in bed after I had added a little of this to my bath and it sinks in so nicely, he just thought my leg was especially soft but bare....Ooh la la! |

My current fav is rose hip oil...it's moisturizing yet not overly oily! I use it on my face as well and it hasn't been breaking out... |

Wouldn't that be pricey to use on the whole body? |
