So after reading Carekate's posts on the 1000 hours, I decided that's it I am going to dye my lashes!!! I had come across the Colorsport kits in Boots and after reading many glowwing reveiws on tham I decided to try one myself.
First of all here is a link, so you all can see the kit I am reviewing:
http://www.jasonshankey.co.uk/dsp_ProductDetails.cfm/product_key/1147/size_key/1245/Colorsport_30_Day_Mascara_-_Black.html
I could not decide between the Black and the Dark Brown, so I bought both and opted to dye my lashes black, I gave the Dark Brown one to my MIL whi is pleased with the the end results too:))
This was so easy, you get a little tray and just have to mix 1/2 cm of the dye cream that is in the tube with 2 drops of the developer liquid.
I took the advice from the reviews I read and did not bother to use the application device in the kit, rather I found an old tube of mascara, tossed the tube and once cleaned used the wand.
After coating the brush with the mixture, I applied as I would mascara, left for 10 mins and wiped off........lovely natural looking black lashes!!!
Very Pleased, the kit does not look like it has even been used, I will easily have enough for a years useage!! Now I just curl my lashes and apply some Ardell over the top.
I was worried at first that black would look too start against my pale complexion but it really does look natural, when my MIL did the Dark Brown (she has blonde lashes), you could see they were darker but the black would have still looked fine.
For anyone who is interested, here is a run down of ingrediedients:
Dye Cream: Aqua, Cetearyl Alcohol, 2-Chloro-p-phenylenediamine, PEG-40 Sorbitan Lanolate, 2,6 Diaminopyridine, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate, Parfum. May Contain [+/-] m-Aminophenol, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 770077.
Devoloper Liquid: Aqua, Hydrogen Peroxide, Triethanolamine, Phosphoric Acid, Oleth-10.
Now I don't know if the ingredients are good or very bad, but there was no scent at all and my eyes were not left feeling sensitive as they sometime are from wearing Mascara, I am really really happy with the kit and at £7.79 it was the same price as a mascara, I think the kit is £1 cheaper at Superdrug.
Here are they reviews I went off:

Phenylenediamine can cause severe allergic reactions, but I imagine if you are you know it already I became allergic after several years of dying my hair....Just please be careful messing round your eyes. If in doubt do a patch test everytime you dye (you will become allergic the SECOND time or later you use a product not the first)and keep some antihistamines handy to take any redness down.
That being said I can get away with using this product because I use a mascara brush so the cream doesn't get on my skin, using oil round the skin as a barrier and lots of gateneau/liz earle eye makeup remover soaked pads to remove all the dye! The things we will do to look a little better. |

I used to use this one and was pretty pleased with the results, but I have to say that I like the 1000 Hours so much better! (Especially that gorgeous bluey black.) |

I think next year when I have used this kit up I will go for the 1000 hours, the jet black sheen effect I was reading you get from the blue/black kit is what I was hoping for.
Nevertheless I am happy with my results |

No, it's only available in Oz or NZ. You can order directly from the 1000 Hours website or you can PM me for the name of my "secret source" where I order mine.
ETA: I have an extra kit of 1000 Hours in Midnight Blue (blue/black) that I'm putting up for grabs. If you are interested, PM for details -- first come, first serve. |
