What other way you use Decleor Aromaessence Ylang Ylang? I use it at night sometimes. Is it ok to use during the day under makeup?
Do you think the balm is better than the oil version? |

I've actually used both the ylang ylang balm & oil & I prefer the oil cos I find it absorbs much better. I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be for nighttime use only I don't think it would be good to use under makeup during the day especially if your skin is oily...but I guess you could use a tiny amount on your face for daytime & tissue off any excess.

No worries! Generally I found the Decleor range really helped my oily, congested skin several months ago (I now have combination-dry skin). I tried heaps of products/brands like Dr Hauschka & Dermalogica, but I found Decleor helped the most...the ylang ylang oil is definitely one my HG's! |

I'd stick to using the balm at night but the oil equivalent can be used in the morning and would be better absorbed IMO. |

FYI - the Decleor Ylang Ylang Aromessence Oil is intended to be used in the mornings and the Decleor Ylang Ylang Balm is intended to be used every night for 14 days, then take off the next 14 days and repeat the cycle each month. I believe the Decleor balms are intended to be used in this manner because to use them every night without a break can be overly drying to the skin.
To use the Decleor Y-Y oil:
------------------------------------
• Cleanse and toner face as usual; then
• Apply Vit-C serum (if applicable), wait at least 2-3 minutes for the serum to be absorbed into the skin (ideally you should wait 10 minutes, but that’s not always practical when you are in a rush in the A.M..); then
• Dispense 2-3 drops of Y-Y oil onto fingertips then rub fingertips together to “emulsify” the oil and then lightly smooth your fingertips across your entire face in an upward motion in quick, gentle strokes. Wait at least 10 minutes (the longer the better) for the allow to be absorbed before applying moisturizer and/or makeup;
• When the allotted time has elapsed, take a tissue and lightly press it against face to blot up excess Y-Y oil that was not absorbed;
• Apply moisturizer and/or makeup as usual.
To use the Decleor Y-Y balm:
------------------------------------
• Cleanse and toner face as usual; then
• Apply any serums or other treatments; then
• Take a tiny dab of Y-Y balm onto a fingertip then rub fingertips together to “emulsify” the balm and then lightly smooth your fingertips across your entire face in an upward motion in quick, gentle strokes. Repeat this process every night for two weeks, then discontinue useage for two weeks and continue repeating this cycle.
If you notice that your skin is becoming overly dry, you should decrease usage of balm to every other night or every couple of days.

I recieved samples of the Neroli Oil and one of the balms, the balm I found did nothing for my skin but I love the oil.
I actually use it at night after toning and don't put anything over the top, the scent helps me drift off to sleep and my skin looks lovely in the morning. |
