Our son was accepted into college yesterday. He is the only child and we live in Virginia he will be going to Va Commonwealth University (School of the Arts) for Graphic Design. As you can imagine I already miss him. He will only be 1hr away. Thought I would share the good news.

...only an hour away, huh? Might be cheaper just to buy him a reliable car instead of paying for residence....Then you won't have to miss him. |

Just don't do what my dad did to me... whenever I'd say something stupid when home on break from college, he'd say "I want a refund!"
Seriously, though, CONGRATS! |

Awesome! Good for him AND you!
An hour away isn't so bad though. I wish I could have been closer to home (I was a 11-12 hour drive away). But it sure made my visits home all that much more meaningful. An advantage to him being so close is that it will be easier for him to pop over for dinner during the week or weekend. I think my mom would have liked a lot of small visits spread out than one or two big ones per year. And just think- when he has events where the parents are invited, it's easy to get to so many of them! |
