I thought this would be fun. My silly hubby left me ALONE in the beauty/relaxation department (different to the brand cosmetics section on the first floor) in my favorite department store today (OK, well he was off buying my birthday present...)
Sufficed to say I came home with a nice little haul. I am hopeless!
So, I am going to share what I got and it is now your turn - what did YOU all get on your last little shopping expedition?
I went shopping and I bought:
1. Weleda body oil sampler set
2. Tempur eye mask
3. RoC Peel-EX Radiance (micro-peeling mask)
(came with sample of RoC RETIN-OX Correxion night cream)
4. Guerlain Fleur de Teint Foundation (this is TOTALLY our member lavieenrose's fault!! )
(scored sample bottles of 3 issima products: pure veil cleansing milk, Perfect White C Refining Brightening Lotion and Perfect White C Intense Whitening Essense)
5. Gaia Peppermint essential oil
OH and 6. A sheep-shaped TV pillow
Who is gonna fess up next? |

What happened to the "edit" function on our posts? I was about to edit because I thought it should go to the lounge board since it is not actually talking about skincare as such.
Was the edit function removed? I cannot edit other posts as well now... |

oh who cares if this is in the wrong section! they'll boot us if necessary!
can't wait to here your reviews, especially of the above. now tell me tell me tell me what colour you got of the Fleur de Teint? Rose Pale, i presume. is it not glorious???
i never made it to the store as i was doing another errand, found myself in the midst of the beginnings of a protest and turned around. got home and had an email from Sephora and found one of the stores was having a special Guerlain event and since i can get 10% off -- well, i'm waiting.... you said you got the Whitening samples too. i saw they had an SPF 45 of this. did you see it? did you try it???
oh, i so love when somebody gets in trouble first! |

Well yesterday my little shopping spree consisted of buying Debra Lippmann's "Rich Girl" Anti-aging hand cream w/SPF 25. Although I'm not a "rich girl" you almost have to be to use this stuff consistently. It costs $24.00 for a 3oz tube But anything that helps keep those age spots from getting bigger and darker.
I also got some samples of Elizabeth Arden's Ceramide Eye Capsules, and a few of the moisturizers. My skin is so dry!! |

Hi Girls,
On our last grocery trip to the food co-op I snuck a jar of the alba papaya enzyme mask into the basket. It was on sale for only $8. This was on a recommendation from one of our members, I wish I could remember who so I could give credit. I really like that it is a cool gel that glides on so easily. I just slathered it all over my face, neck, chest, hands and arms while filling the tub, got in and rinsed it off! It really loosened up the dead skin and I can see it's going to last a long time. Wondering if I should keep it in the fridge, though. |

Speaking of Alba, I recently got their Sugar Cane Body Scrub and it's amazing. It smells delicious and it's so moisturizing. |

I had a really tiring and stressful day at work today, preceded by lack of sleep - dangerous territory since it's also Thursday and thus "late night shopping" night i.e. all the shops are still open when I get out of work.
So......
Dermalogica Power Concentrate capsules, and
Dermalogica Toner

I bought THREE weleda bath milks!!! I purchased their citrus deodorant, too. All very nice!
I miss the edit function too. Apparently you only have a short while after posting to edit it, after that it disappears. Too bad I see all of my typos an hour after I post. |

okay, ended up going a little mad and bought some stuff i shouldn't have.... as suspected, the Guerlain foundation was too dark (rose natural) and i'm playing around with diluting it with a more neutral VL TMish base. i just couldn't control myself.... oh, and the new MaxiShine Sheer and Brilliant lippies are absolutely gorgeous!!!
more important than what i *did* by is what the SA gave me. damned close to full size samples of stuff i wasn't even looking at:
Issima Success Model Smoothing Toner
Issima Success Model Lifting Serum Ultra Firming
Issima Success Model Day Care Ultra Firming
Issima Success Eye Tech Eyelid Lifter Wrinkle Minimizer
do you think she was trying to tell me something???
will try it all out and report back.
oh, and i lost all control and bought some lovely Arche sandals whilst i was out. of course it's pissing down today, sigh. they are truly gorgeous but, unlike many, they are made to be walked in. absolutely am mad about this brand of shoe! |

I went snooping around Shoppers Beauty Bootique (hope I spelled it right) for the Fleur de Teint - was quite tempted to splash - buts held back as I spent quite a bit at EDS yesterday and just bought Channels Pro Lumiere foundation. The spring collection looks very "Yummy" - the girl put me down for a Guerlain Make over for the 24th of April |

I happened to purchase a few things last week...
-Kiehl's Imperiale Repairateur Moisturizing Eye Balm. (to use at night)
-Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado (Day)
-Dermalogica Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque
-Weleda Skin Food
I've been so tempted by the Guerlain products mentioned above. I'd love to hear feedback on them! |

I do have a habit of impulse buying and thinking of the consequences later on.........anyway, i myself too hope that creme de la mer meets all my expectations.......
I was watching this topic.......but was not notified of any replies..........seem to be having a problem with my email.....
Here's to my next purchase craze.....
MA Crisis.........on the jar....the usage date is 24 months......that's the only thing that i am worried about..............especially if i want it to last for 3 years..
look on the bright side........(is there one?), i did save over 400 pounds if i'd bought it in UK |

true rationalization would be how mnay single jars you would get for that 735 pound .... but hey, you can always do a JLo and use is other places too. SA in Tokyo said you can smooth your palms onto the hair after applying on the face.. |

The SA at LAX DFS told me CDLM is good for 24 months that's why last winter I gave 6 oz to my relatives. DO NOT PUT YOUR CDLM IN THE FRIDGE. My niece was at the NM CDLM counter early last year to buy CDLM for her mom. She saw a lady holding this big jar and crying. She put CDLM in the fridge and somehow the oil got fully seperated. (minor seperation is ok) She did not know if NM replaced it but the SA told my niece never put CDLM in the fridge!!!! They should tell all customers that.
Were you hit by Middle Age Crisis like me!!! I've been buying, buying buying, regreting, regreting, regreting, guilty, guilty, guilty...since last August. I thought I was getting better but I'm still buying, feel not as guilty as earlier though!!! |

Is it possible to walk out of a Sephora without buying anything? I DID pass on the Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel for $39 (may not have the correct name of the product), but I'll try it when my PSF Pumpkin Enzyme Peel runs out. I congratulate myself for showing some restraint for a change
I DID buy a Nars eyeshadow duo called "Paris" which I really love. It's has a matte (hooray) charcoal color as well as a pale, lightly frosted grey color. After trying every silvery/grey set of eyeshadows from Revlon to Channel, I think I like this one the best. It creates a very sophisticated effect.
Then I bought Smashbox Anti-Shine Anti-Brilliance in Neutral. This is a thick cream that mattifies (I'm anticipating the sultry summer weather). When I initially tried it (that first night, of course), I applied too much and ended up with a powdery white dryness every where I put it. Soooo, obviously a lighter touch is required. I'll be curious to see how this product performs when it's humid and my skin is really oily. I like Smashbox Photo Finish Primer, so I have great expectations for this.
And I discovered that a favorite Stila eyeshadow (Cloud) has been discontinued. There's still a Stila "Cloud" eyeshadow, but it's totally different. I'm really glad I saw this in person and didn't order it through the website. My girlfriend was sad to discover that her favorite Stila lipstick's been discontinued too. I hate when this happens!!! I'm still pining for my old Lancome lip liner color Giane |
