Hi everyone. I was wondering how you know if your skin is sensitive to Vit c. I have psf 20%, (didn't like the 12% cause it made me sticky) and it dosen't sting or anything when I put it on but my stupid face is red. I think my face was always reddish, but not sure. I used to tan, (I know dumb) but have been using ST Tropez self tanner, so I don't usually let myself get totally white before applying again, except now, and my face is reddish, a little to red, if you know what I mean. The only thing I can think of would be the Vit C, because the only other things I am using on my face is the OCM, DHCC, Psf stimucoll, and the vit C. Haven't been putting on a lotion because EVERYTHING makes my face super shiny. I used J&J vit c for a couple of months so I thought my face could handle the 20. I don't want to waste my vit c, I just got it a week and half ago and its not even half empty. So, now that you have my life story, lol, I guess what I'm asking is what happens if a vit c is too strong for your skin? and how do you know if it is?
Thank you so much for answering yet another one of my questions. |

Quit using it all over your face and just use it in one area like a patch test...then if you still get red there, you'll know. If not, you'll have to do the same with all your other products til you id the culprit. |

Are you sure it's the Vit C? Best way to find out is to stop using it completely and wait until your face is its normal color. Then add it back, maybe applying every other night and see if the red comes back.
I'm sensitive to Vit C, even at 5%. I can use it for about 2 days then I start to get red raised spots that then turn scaly. |

Okay, I'll try that. Thanks. Except I use it in the morning, is that okay? or do you think I should use it at night?

Rae, I think vitamin C works just as well whether you use it morning or evening - most people seem to use it in the morning though, and then use other active products at night. HTH. |
