This stuff is so good for you, it's solid but starts to melt at around 75 degrees. I use it to cook with and it has a lot of health properties. Natives of many other countries use it and have beautiful skin.
So, I figure it must be good to make some inventive skin care products.
Ideas, anyone? |

what about as a rich skin moisturiser?? I'm not sure about how well coconut oil actually absorbs.. a lot of the pacific islanders use it and they seem very very greasy afterwards..
i've also read that it can be taken internally by itself.. |

I use Coconut Oil in alot of the products I make. Doesn't absorb as well as Jojoba for example, but comparitive to Shea, Mango etc.. it's not as heavy.
I made a dozen Tuberose scented lotion bars today (Mothers Day is coming you know ) It has Mango Butter, Shea Butter, Kokum Butter, Coconut Oil & beeswax. I also added 3% of Vitamin E oil and then of course the Tuberose EO. They came out lovely. I have 1 sitting next to me now just cause I have to keep sniffing them....I LOVE the scent of Tuberose! |

i use it for my skin and for my hair.
sometimes i just rub it in as a moisturizer, which if you don't use much, it does absorb very well, but if you use a bunch it will leave you greasy.
for my hair i rub a very little bit into the ends and then massage upwards towards my hair, then i smooth my hands over the rest of my hair.
i also use it for OCM, i've found that if i use 50/50 Castor/Grapeseed, steam=blot that off and then massage in coconut and steam blot that off, it's easier to get all the excess oil off. next step is mixing them all together, but i haven't tried that yet.
it's also good in the solid state as a replacement for shortening in baking!. |

I Love, Love, Love, Coconut oil.
This is the only form of fat I consume. I use it instead of butter or oil and I put it in everything. It's soooo good for you.
It's a great pre-conditioner for your hair. I put it all through my hair a couple of hours before I shower, then shampoo and condition as usual. My hair always comes out soft and shiny.
It's great on your skin as well. I had those nasty little bumps on the backs of both my arms and tried so many things to get rid of them. I was using ocm, followed by tea tree oil, then a bha lotion which helped almost take them away but it was a tiring routine. So I just started putting the coconut oil on 2x a day instead and now they're hardly visible.
I also put it on my face at night after cleansing and by morning it completely absorbs into my skin and gives a healthy glow.
It's also great for dry skin and your nails and cuticles. I could go on and on. |

I love Coconut Oil too. I would put it in everything from deserts to cooking with it, as a replacement for butter. Adding some salt to it and whipping it up so it's soft and fluffy makes a great spread in place of butter or trans-fatty margarin. And when you put it in the fridge or freezer it gets hard, so I'd mix it with almond butter and cocoa to make freezer fudge, it's so good and healthy. MMMMMM. The only brand I found that I like though is ultra expensive unfortunately. I went through it so fast. Also unfortunately it would make me break out when I used it as a moisturizer. And on my body it would never absorb that well. I think mixed with other things it'd be ok though, like shea butter, jojoba etc. Can't say it's the only fat I'd eat, I also love macadamia nut oil, olive oil, nuts and seeds, avocados etc. |

I eat all these things too! I just meant as far as adding butter or oils when cooking. I should have phrased that better. Life would be boring without these delicious treats. I also have a passion for peanut butter! BYRG, what brand of coconut oil do you use? |

Your lotion bars sound absolutely divine! This is off-topic, but I'm wondering if you would share where you purchase your Tuberose EO? I've looked several places, and it is a bit expensive. It is a wonderful scent...which is why it's a little pricey!
Are you selling any of your products yet? So you have a website? |
