First, a question:
Could a moisturizer WITH sunblock be used instead of a flat-out sunblock?
I think I know the answer to that one already...
So if the answer is no, here are the qualifications for the sunblock I'm seeking:
1) Light texture, non-greasy, non-shine-inducing
2) Oil-free
3) On the cheaper side
4) SPF 30 or above
** A bonus would be if this product is actually something I can buy in a drug store as opposed to ordering online. I also have some other stores near me like Sephora, The Body Shop, etc, and am willing to go to one of those, just wary of inflated prices.
Thanks in advice for any tips! |

Most moisturizers with sunscreen are not waterproof so if that is an issue then the answer in no. Otherwise I think it is fine to use a moisturizer with sunscreen if it has good sunscreen ingredients in high enough amounts.
One that I could recommend and that I use myself is Olay Complete Defense SPF 30. I do not use this everyday, I use the Olay Complete SPF 15 for everyday use.
Here are the ingredients for the sensitive skin version of the Olay Complete SPF 30:
Active Ingredients: Octinoxate 7.5%, Zinc Oxide 6.0%, Octisalate 2.5%, Octocrylene 2.5%
Inactive Ingredients: Water, Isohexadecane, Glycerin, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth 7, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-18/18 Dimethicone, Steareth-21, Stearyl Alcohol, Sucrose Polycottonseedate, Niacinamide, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Polyethylene, Behenyl Alcohol, DMDM Hydantoin, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Cetyl Alcohol, Panthenol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Methylparaben, Benzyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Aloe Barbadensis Juice Leaf, Steareth-2, Oleth 3 Phosphate
I think that this moisturizer fits all your criteria. I have oily/combo skin and find this to actually be less greasy than the SPF 15 version and most suncreens that I have tried. I actually find myself blotting my face less on the days when I use this. HTH |
