| Just curiouos what people use for super soft skin. Either products from here, drugstore brand or homemade. |

Prior to making my own lotion & sugar scrubs I have had ALOT of success with using soybean oil/grapeseed oil mix with whatever my favorite essential oil scent happened to be that day.
Very economical & far superior to anything I have purchased. |

Can you share with me some of the lotions/scrubs you've made? I've never really used body lotion before.
I've read some people use olive oil/sugar? Can you make a "batch" in a bottle, or do you make it each time? |

| I love grapeseed as bodyoil too... and also love mixing sea salt and grapseed with EOs (lemon, lime and/or eucalyptus) as a body scrub. It is super easy to make and also refreshing for tired feet/legs.... |

For exfoliation, I have used and loved to bits:
 Clarins Exfoliating Body Scrub
the Body Shop Mandarin Scrub (but they've discontinued this darn it)
my trusted homemade DHCC (for the face, I know, but it makes for great body scrub as well)
My own blends of salt scrubs - inspired by the L'Occitane Verbena Salt Scrub (which was just okay for the money, but totally amazing when it's DIY   ) and CareKate's One Minute Manicure.
I am lazy at moisturising my body, although I'm almost obsessive about moisturing my hands, and never forget my bust.
I use Better Breasts by Mayaltha, an Australian company (Mabsy you never mentioned this?  )( http://www.thenaturalsource.com/Products/mayalthatreatments/ ). I used to use Clarins Bust Gel and Bust Milk and loved them, too. I think when I run out of Mayaltha* I'll head to the Clarins counter...

I make mine a huge jar (I run out so fast!  ). The salt/sugar scrub is simply salt/sugar in oil with EOs thrown in. |

I mixed some brown sugar and olive oil together last night and plan to have a nice long bath tonight to try it. I'll get some EO's this weekend.
Now I just have to find the right body lotion! |

I love the Decleor system corps 
Gatineau aha together with the Gatineau body scrub
Elemis devils mint body scrub is lovely in the mornings
Elemis body lotion or milkway bath can be used on the skin and the smells and textures are out of this world IMO |

| I don't tend to use body scrubs, but I like to use a body puff or (for more exfoliation)gloves in the shower with my usual shower gel - leaves the skin feeling nice and smooth without all the messy bits. |

| A good lotion that also exfoliates is Dermalogica Body Hydrating Cream. It's weird, you apply it and rub it in and they you feel this grit start to roll off... its your dead skin cells... only lotion that I discovered being able to do this. I gave a bottle to my mom and she said the same thing, you rub it in and you just keep rubbing while it exfoliates, you can actually feel your skin cells coming off and clumping up. It smells good too. However this stuff extremely irritated my skin back when I had active eczema... so I don't think it's for sensitive skin. |

My favorite body products come from Garden Botanika atwww.gardenbotanika.com
I have thought about making my own scrubs, not because I do not love the ones that GB have, but just because they are so dang expensive!
I had thought that I would need to pick up course salt or sugar... would brown sugar work well? or regular salt? If so I am good to go! |

| You would want to use Sea Salt not regular table salt. Sea salt will draw out toxins as well as exfoliate. I use regular sugar sometimes in my homemade scrubs. Sugar in the raw works great too... its a bit rougher.. brown sugar should work well also, I've tried that a few times. |

| I love the Philosophy body scrubs. They leave my skin soft and they all smell yummy. I am a body lotion junkie; I have several going at one time. My right now fav is True Blue Spa Tahiti, Sweetie with monoi oil, and my all time fav is Philosophy Falling in Love body lotion. The fragrance is wonderful, and it's very light but has almond and shea butters, olive oil... good stuff!! |

Thanks Phoebes! I thought that Sea Salt was in order. I will try making one with brown sugar though...
Violet, I have tried a couple of flavors of Philosophy with no luck... It totally dries out my skin... It is sooo odd how different brands react differently to different skin types. I gave my bottle of pumpkin pie to my son and have had a bottle of white chocolate something or other hanging out in the medicine cabinet for a couple of years... lol! |

Osea's Ocean Lotion is the best I have EVER tried, far beyond any other body lotion or skin oil that has ever gone on my body. It leaves you feeling silky, not greasy, and it instantly softens all hard and dry areas, and it loaded with herbal extracts and marine trace minerals and red algae gel.
It is in a class all its own, but I feel as if I am the ONLY person who has EVER used it!
Won't anyone corroborate me on this one??? |

It is weird how different things work for different people. The Philosophy shower gel is the only thing that keeps my skin hydrated, especially in the winter. I also like how it rinses clean and isn't slimy as some shower gels can be. (It sounds like you have white choco hazelnut cake which I just ran out of and would totally steal because it's discontinued!)
But in the summer I go to a Renaissance fair and stock up on these wonderful handmade olive oil/ goat's milk soaps. Even though I love philosophy, on a hot day nothing is better than a fruity-smelling bar of soap. |
