I bought it awhile back and found the dark brown is just too light for my lashes but still use it for brows and love it. Since I'm having good, (but slow)results with Jan Marini Eyelash, I wanted to order the Blue-Black so many raved about. But when I did it before, it got in my eyes and really stung! Any suggestions to help avoid this?

It's kind of tricky to get the hang of applying it. When I apply gel dye, I use an old washed out mascara wand on as much of my lashes as it can get with out getting it in my eyes. And I use the skinny end of the mixing stick for "detailing" the area of the lashes closest to the entrace area into my eye that the wand didn't get. Perhaps the trick to not getting it into my eyes is that I approach the top side of my upper lashes and the bottom side of my lower lashes and work the gel into the lashes while making sure that it doesn't reach the skin (the lid "tip"/the skin at the "entrance" area to the eye) just past the root of the lashes. IF IT DOES get to that area I first make sure I keep my eye wide open then I grab a pre-moistened Q-tip and lift the gel off of the skin before it can touch my eye ball.

I don't know if this really helps or not... sorry.

I use an old mascara wand (clean) to brush out my lashes 1st. I apply the gel with a toothpick, find it gets the little guys in the inner corner better without getting everywhere. Also works well to get the outer corners where the upper & lower lashes tangle together.

When I first started using the 1000 hr tint, I got some in my eyes...it stung pretty bad. So the next time I did it, I went to Sephora and "borrowed" Bad Grin a few of the brush mascara testers. I mixed the product as usual, but applied it with the mascara brush. The testers seem to limit the amount of product that goes on my lashes, and better yet, I haven't gotten anymore tint in my eyes!
