Hello,
I have noticed there is a link to sasa.com that is a cosmetics store in Hongkong. Has anyone buy products from there? They actully offer very good price on many products. How come the products are much cheaper than selling at the department store? Are they the same products? Thanks. |

I'm pretty sure that SaSa is not connected with EDS in any way. The link that you clicked on was placed there by Google Ads.
I am not sure why the products at SaSa are cheaper than in department stores. But having been to Hong Kong a while ago there are quite a few shops that offer department store products at much lover prices. This is just a guess, but I'm thinking that their products are cheaper because they do not need to hire as many staff and pay as much rent as department stores. Their profit margins may be lower because they rely on selling volume to make up their revenue. There is also the possibility of them selling outdated stock, but like I said I'm just not sure.

I have purchased from SaSa before. I atucally asked them why their products are cheaper than the cosmetic counters, their answer is that they ordered the products directly from the place of origin and therefore the tax is lower. I trusted that they wont sell any outdated stock as sasa is a listed company, well, listed com doesn't necessarily guarantee anything nowadays, but let's just hope so. |

If you purchase the cosmetics from the sasa.com link, the prices are not as low as you can actually purchase from the local store in HK.
There are a lot of gossips about the lower prices at SASA, Angela was correct for part of it, but if you really have a chance to visit the local stores in HK, you can notice that they are selling even the samples !! Like the Clinique, Lancome, etc. while in here, these things are supposed to be distributed free.. I dont know, but I guess they have deals with the distributors for getting the "out-dated" samples, though not expired and sell them at lower price.. but they have gd reputation, no worry to get the fake products.. but maybe the place of manufacturing is a concern, like even though they carry the same brandname, the orgin of it may not be the same as you can purchase from the dept store. |
