Just curious.
I was in there today and kind of sniffing around... they look like they have some interesting products.
I tried their Vitamin C serum, though, and it was SOO greasy!
I did purchase a nice, light sunblock with Vitamin C that I am pretty psyched about.
So anyone shop there/have any rants or raves about their products? |

I have their Vitamin C intensive night care cream. (not sure if that's the exact name because I don't have it with me right now) I've been using it at night - a little goes a long way for me and I find that in the morning my skin is very smooth. It's quite thick because it's meant as a night cream I suppose. For the moment it will do for me - I can't really splurge too much. But in all fairness, I do get up with a glow in the morning and it's a very reasonable price. |

Almost forgot - my mum raves about their African body scrub. It does wonders for her dry skin patches especially on her legs and feet. |

I've used and liked some of their body products in the past (big fan of the vanilla-scented products!), not so excited about the skincare though, I haven't found anything that really worked for me. |

I continually repurchase the warming mineral mask. That stuff is amazing, unlike most masks. For me, it exoliates really well and lightens any mark I may have on my skin. It's a quick mask too, sometimes I just put it on for five minutes in the shower and it still does it's magic. They better not EVER stop making it. |

I also like their Body Butter, especially the olive kind. The Hemp hand cream is nice for dry hands, it really helped me through the winter. Their brushes are good too. |

I only use their Vanilla Eau de Toilette. I don't like their skin care products. I recently bought their Lipscuff and totally regret it. Way too rough for the lip area. |

here's a great resource that explains pretty much everything you need to know about sunscreen! http://www.makeupalley.com/user/notepad/sunscreenFAQ/#photo
essentially, photostable means that the ss doesn't start to degrade in sunlight. so you're safe for the day, intead of only a couple of hours. also, i'm prtty sure an unphotostable ss won't have adequate UVA protections which is what prevents wrinkles.

I always use their body butters and their dry oil sprays. The passion fruit scented stuff smells sooo good! |

I have tried their skincare products in the past, and so far haven't had any luck with them.
I love their body butters, but they are getting expensive! As someone else said..the warming mineral mask is pretty good too |

Funnily enough, I arrived at this forum by having a terrible experience with the Vit E range from the Body Shop. Feeling poor 2 weeks ago I invested in the Vit E range and have really regretted it. Over the course of a week I started tingling, then stinging and finally shedding skin! I think I gave myself a chemical peel without realising it!
I have since gone to my local Guerlain consultant and had to pay about a million dollars for Issima SOS ! I certainly feel a million dollars better. Hardly any more redness, smooth and...oddly...smaller pores on my nose!
I have had a great time reading all your wise advice and sage recommendations (my two teenagers have both had asprin masks over the weekend with terrific results ). I'm glad to have broken the ice with this post too... it's a bit intimidating to join in a conversation with such knowledgable members!
Body Shop body and bath products seem ok...but I will be saving my $$$ (and poor old skin) from now on and only buy products I am sure of. |

Issima SOS? ooh.. is that a soothing product?
Re the BS Vit. E range, it does not surprize me - ever looked at the ingredients?! There is so much cxxp added into their stuff it is awful. I was going to get some of it for my mum after her op, but no way. They do seem to have a pure Vit. E oil that has no additives though. I would never use their stuff on my face...
we have a tub of body butter for massaging shoulders ... I have a foot butter that is OK and we have one bergamot body lotion (but I am not keen on the "feel" of it). We get a few body brushes and stuff like that there though. |

Yes tiger_tim! The ingredients (hidden under the labelling) read like a list of chemicals for making explosive devices. I was pretty horrified at the extensive lsit of additives. I don't know why, but I just expected BS to be more on the natural side of the cosmetics industry...silly me
The Issima SOS has been heaven in a glass jar...I'll have to get a job moonlighting if I want to continue in the long term! |

I love the body butter, especially in winter. I think my favorite is the Nut. I don't ever buy any fruity scents. Will look into the mineral mask. They raved about the hemp hand cream but I go back to Crabtree and Evelyn's Gardeners Hand Therapy. Not the best smell but does not leave hands greasy and makes them soft. The scrub they have for hands is great too. |

I've been eyeing the new Body Shop Brightening line of products but after reading these posts on the Vit E I'd better skip it. The Issima SOS however is calling my name
adropoflanvender - can you provide any more details on it? What is it exactly supposed to do? |

I'm a fan of their body butters, too (I have one that smells like honey...may be the same one BCgirl mentioned)! Great for dry legs and elbows...

Thanks gals, I've also been eyeing the brightening line, but not anymore after reading your posts...
I do love their vanilla eau de parfume, and olive body butter! These are great scents for the summer! |

Oh man when I was in my early teens, the Body Shop products were like the ultimate face care products you could buy with money. But after learning about ingredients.. I was very very disappointed..
But I do like their perfume oils.. especially Oceanus and Moonflower. |
