I am a new member and have very dry skin (as a child I had terrible excema). I am 38 and wanting to buy a very good rich anti ageing cream and eye cream. I have bought many expensive creams in the past (Lancome, Clarins etc) and have been told by overly made up counter staff that my skin is 'dehydrated', which I don't think is the case. I have found the only cream that keeps my skin hydrated is a cheap Body Shop Aloe vera skin dream, but would like to use something that works which is more nourishing. I find that Rose Hip Seed Oil at night works well. Has anyone any ideas for a really good cream and eye cream and has anyone else had a good experience with Rose Hip seed oil? Thanks,

Hi AJ.

Have you tried Decleor Hydra Floral Cream? It's the richest, most hydrating cream I've ever used. And if you like using essential oils, Decleor products contain lots of them.

As far as eye creams go, Cellcosmet can't be beat. I use it in the morning, and at the end of the day the skin around my eyes still looks and feels as if I'd just applied it. The girls on this forum rave about it--and for good reason. It's expensive, but well worth it!Wink

Hello AJ,

I am presently using Rosehip Oil which I recently purchased with good results, but I am using all kinds of essential oils which I like very much and has helped my dehydrated skin.

It is possible that you have dehydrated skin, because dehydrated skin is just a loss of water whereas dry skin is a loss of oil in the upper layers of the skin. Many things that we are not aware of can cause a loss of water or oil from the skin. But, you know best and I also am very skeptical about sales girls at the cosmetic counter and their advice.

Decleor products are good, but I also found that Dr. Renaud prducts, sold on this website has many good moisturizers and creams for dry - dehydrated - mature skin. They are not as expensive as Cellcosmet if you are on a budget.

I got Rose Hip Oil for my mum based a few recommendations and she started using it at night about two weeks ago. She has very dry skin and the oil seems to work well for her so far (as in she's not complaining in the morning that her skin feels uncomfortable or looks dull). I don't think she's been using it everynight though, she's alternating with Orlane Super Moisturizing Concentrate.

If You are REALLY Dry... try the La Mer Cream - but You better be really Dry! If You need Hydration, which most People do - one of the few products that actually does what it says, is the Orlane Fluidratante Line. Get Samples if possible, as it is an expensive 'test'...

As an Aesthetician I would highly reccommend Yonka Elastin nuit. It's an age free cream. And if that's still not enough you can add a serum. Also be sure to exfoliate and get regular facials to help clear the dead cells so the moisturizer can penetrate more effectively.
As for an eye cream... Dermologica MultiPower Vitamin firm is the best for you. Hope this helps.

lpraught,
is it possible to get scars from facial extractions? I love getting facials but have noticed some scars, and I am not a picker or squeezer so I have no idea where they came from. Surprised

Aww! You poor thing: dry skin, which is probably even more dry during the winter months!Sad Let me see if I can help with the winter blahs, and rescue you from this dry madness!

My top recommendation for you would be from the Cellcosmet line: Ultra Vital Face Creme and Eye Contour Creme. Rich, soothing, radiant, and protective!

Wink
However, I see that you've mentioned using rose oil, so I am guessing that perhaps you're looking for something with plant-based ingredients?? Therefore, let's stear towards the Decleor line of skincare, using essential oils and plant based ingredients.

Cleanse with Nutrivital Cleansing Creme, and follow with Tonifying Lotion to restore the skin to it's natural pH, and prepare skin for moisturizing. You are seeking a rich, anti-aging treatment, and I would like to recommend a couple of different day and night regimes.

AM Start with Aromaessence Angelique Oil, followed by Lift Total Rescupting Creme or Ultra Comforting Creme.

PM Angelique Night Balm, underneath your Ultra-Comforting Creme. Or, you may also choose to use Nutri-Delic Ultra Nourishing Creme when you feel your skin could use a little extra "oomphf!!".

I would like to see you incorporate the use of an exfoliant into your skincare. When dead skin cells accumulate, they create a barrier which do not allow products to do their job. The Exfoliating Face Gel, used once per week, will help refine & smooth the texture of your skin. Lift Total Wrinkle and Firmness Mask is great too for a little treat and some t.l.c.

Very Happy
